Vibe of country store for sure. Wallenda family fascinated me so much. That truly was some tower. Thanks for the tour and your written story.

The cable is long gone, but Wallenda's walk is still a big part of the community and its tourism even 4 years after this video was made. Thanks for watching it!

I can remember reading all of the newspaper articles that are there, and every trip, I had to always look at the pictures, yet again.....😊 That whole place has such memories for me. From what you said in the vlog, I am guessing that you and I are the same age, because I was 8, when he did the famous walk......and I have been going there since I was a wee little girl......Thanks for the memories🐾🐾🦊🐺

We must be almost exactly the same age. They recently closed down TPO. The folks who'd been running it for more than 30 years weren't able to renew their lease, and have opened a general store on Main St instead. No one knows what will become of the building here we've both enjoyed for so long. Thanks for coming along on this trip, foxy wolf!

Did he say Evil Keneivil ....So cool you came across the tower ruins. That view from the top was impressive. At 60 I'll be happy to just be able to cross the street....See you getting more comfortable filming. Nicely done.

This used to be on 441 wasn't it? you can barely find 441 on the map anymore. My dad would take this route back before there were as many Interstates. You haven't lived till you take nothing but back roads from central Florida to Minnesota, for real excitement you have to do it in winter. There were motels in the middle of nowhere that would almost let you stay for free because they hadn't seen anyone for most of the winter, and were snowed in for the most part. Talking about early to late 60's.Back when Motel 6 cost $6 a night. In the middle of Wisconsin and Minn. in the off season you could find motels for $2-3

441 when it passes through GA is actually Hwy 23. Same highway; 23 just becomes 441 once it gets into NC. I too remember those days when travel was a real adventure 🙂
