The Gospel of Mark | Animated Movie | Chapter 4

The gospel of Mark is the shortest of the four gospels, but it is nonetheless an excellent recounting of the life and teachings of Jesus, which is remarkably consistent with what Matthew and Luke wrote in their gospel accounts. This is the fourth chapter of a fully illustrated/partially animated interpretation of the gospel according to Mark.
In this chapter, Jesus tells the crowds a few parables, include the parable of the sower. It goes over the heads of just about everyone, of course... including the twelve disciples! But Jesus really wants us to internalize what this parable is saying, and so he explains the meaning to us. After his sermon, Jesus and his disciples find themselves in peril on the sea of Galilee. What are they going to do!?

Ha! Everyone would like to know the answer to that question. These days, there does not seem to be good soil ANYWHERE. When we are out witnessing on the streets, we have always found that the poor neighbourhoods are more open to the teachings of Jesus than others. On the other hand, "religious" people take an initial interest in things we say, suggesting they may be more likely to receive our message; but in the end, they seem to be the most argumentative. Lately I've been getting a lot of mail from atheists, but the troll types can be as irrational as religious fundamentalists in their own way!

I think Jesus was also getting crushed by the crowds (as mentioned in another part of the gospels), and so the boat provided an escape from that.

Christians hear the message regarding the Kingdom but do not understand it, for the evil one (the selfhood) snatched away what was sown in their heart. Christians hear the message and immediately receive it with joy; yet Christians have no root in themselves, but endure for a while, and when tribulations or persecutions come on account of the message, immediately Christians fall away. Christians hear the message but their fanatical adherence to their treasured cherished beliefs choke the message and it bears no fruit. Therefore, only those who hear and receive the message and understands it; indeed bears fruit, and yields, in one case a hundredfold, in another, sixty, and another thirty fold.
