I'd say 45%. The other 55% being sex with varying degrees of consent and gods getting furious when someone calls them out for their stupid stuff. I think my favorite example of how dark Greek mythology can be is the origin of Medusa. She used to work in a temple of Athena until she was raped by Poseidon in the temple. Athena couldn't really do anything to Poseidon so she took her anger out on Medusa and turned her into a gorgon. Rape or not, sex in a temple was considered a sin to be punished. And the reason why that horrible story is my favorite example is because it's one of the few that doesn't involve Zeus as the rapist.

I know, right? I heard all about that from the Nostalgia Chick, it's just a result of him being in charge of the Underworld isn't it? Ol' Hades got the short end of the stick, while Zeus got the sky and Poseidon got the ocean, he got the ground (aka Gaia, his mom). Speaking of Zeus, that guy's just a bastard, making children under Hera's nose and as a swan/goose no less, I don't know what Poseidon did but I'm sure he's a jerk as well. @BoredomBee4 жыл бұрын
@@flowerfaerie8931 Yup, which honestly just derails Heracles' best known story, since he only performed the Twelve Labors because he murdered his wife, Megara, and their children because _fucking Hera_ sent him into a madness because she puts the sins of the father at the feet of the son. I'm pretty sure Heracles met Hades all of once for his final labor: getting Kerberos and bringing him to see Eurystheus. And Hades fUCKING LET HIM. Hades was basically just like, "Yeah, I'm pretty sure this has something to do with Zeus and, frankly, I don't want to know. You can take Kerberos on a walk if you can actually get him without your weapons." AND THAT WAS IT. I get that Disney had to change familicide, but did they _really_ have to make Hera a sweet, tender side character instead of the vengeful bitch villain?

Just to clear up a few things fact wise. Hades is the ruler of the underworld (also called Hades) but he is the god of wealth due to the many thousands of gold pockets and other gems lying around where he lives, which is basically under a mountain that was once a volcano. Hera hated Hercules and wanted to kill him. Hades isn't inherently bad at all. Remembering it was fine to kidnap your wife back then just as it is now in some countries. Hades and Persephone had one of the chillest and nicest relationships in history. Also Zeus was a nymphomaniac (someones who loves sex basically). Remembering that myths cannot be compared fully to modern day interpretation as we have a different culture and society.

"Remember it was fine to kidnap your wife" The fuck? Lots of horrible things could have been done to you and your abuser need only pay a fine. That absolves them am I right? They're not bad. And Persephone wasn't actually kidnapped. Look for the real story

Hades only kidnapped her because Zeus gave him that advise. Hades thought she was cute and asked Zeus what he should do and Zeus said to kidnap her..... So that wasn't even his fault. He was trusting his brother.

The Titans and Hera. She's the one who made shit difficult for Heracles in the first place and tried to kill him -- along with every other kid who was Zeus' but not hers (except Athena). She always put all the blame on the ones Zeus slept with and their children and never Zeus himself. She's both a bitch and an idiot! Clearly my least favorite goddess.

Question: If Zeus was able to defeat all the Titans on his own before the movie, how were the same Titans able to pose a threat to all the Olympians (including him) near the end of the movie?

For story purposes, it was Hercules who had to save the day. Though you could argue that because the Titan's took Olympus by surprise, the gods weren't ready.
