When is it "Toxic" masculinity/feminity is like asking "when is a knife 'bad'?" The knife is a tool. It's APPLICATION that decides if it's "good/bad" "toxic or not"

I think masculinity would be the knife and toxic the descriptor. Not even us leftists would tell you making your family feel safe is a toxic trait. But not sharing troubles with your wife so you bare it alone until it erodes your confidence IS toxic. That doesn't mean you have to share every hang nail, but don't kill yourself trying to be atlas.

If you can’t give a flat definition that everyone as a collective agrees upon, then toxic masculinity doesn’t exist. If I do one thing, someone may not see it as toxic. Where someone else might. If that is the case, how am I ever suppose to do anything that wouldn’t be seen as toxic. The answer is you can’t. If you ask 20 people what toxic masculinity is you are going to get different answers. The word toxic is being tied to masculinity to give masculinity a negative stigma. That is the only purpose. If toxic masculinity exists, toxic femininity also must exist. Yet rarely ever gets talked about. Man bad, woman good propaganda.

I have since been highly successful in the usmc, college was straight A's with little effort, multiple professions from office work like real estate as well as field work as a helicopter pilot. Property tax should only be paid once upon paying for the property. The reason it is a tax that must be paid yearly separate from income is to force you into the system to where you must earn money in order to keep it. It is a generational wealth bleed; a way to keep you working and giving money back into the system rather than acquiring and keeping. This is supported by the fact that if you do not pay, you can be forced to lose the property. You are either losing wealth by paying into the system, or losing wealth by not being apart of the system.

@justincavinder550420 сағат бұрын
@@OpenCarry2024but you would just get the same thugs and gangsters in govt, go out and create strong groups to go steal from others. Human history supports this. Vikings, Roman’s, Islam, etc anarchy is great idea, except entirely ignores some peoples human nature of conquest, and greed. What usually stops these elements from doing these things is simply that they can’t. That it’s too hard, and/or too much penalty. You lose most of that protection under anarchy. You have no substantial community funding. You would just be a group of poor, weaklings that would get wrecked by individuals marauders alone. Not to mention powerful groups that do nothing but conquer. We’ve been there before, use your brain. There is a reason basically every single culture and group in the world ended up forming a government. And it’s because it’s actually safer. Yes governments go rogue and tyrant and can get just as bad as before. That’s why there is an equilibrium that everyone is suppose to help keep in check. Of a balanced and reasonable government. We were taught in school(when dinosaurs roamed the earth) that when it came time to vote, you better have read through all the issues that each one of the candidates stood for, and vote according to your own conscience. Party was never the deciding fact. You were to vote for who aligned with your own moral compass, and ideal norms. I never had a teacher that voted party line. They voted on both sides, because they wanted balance. I'm 61, late boomer, but all my values came from my parents and the people in our community. Oh and we homeschooled our kids for 2 yrs, then we both had to go back to work, and 5 yrs later they moved to an independent study coarse that they soared through and Aced. 1:58:02 the sad thing is that a lot of parents don’t care or don’t know how to educate their own children so they lack the framework to properly school their children. We are so deep in this education problem that those parents had a horrible education and for whatever reason they might have had they decided not to try and learn via internet or other means. So now they are unequipped to teach their own children.
@vladimirofsvalbard9477Күн бұрын
Exactly! I understand the entire conservative argument about education, but it also pretends that parents will do the right thing given more educational freedom in raising their kids. If you give parents full autonomy in their child's education; a majority of them will let their kid look at their iPad for 6 hours straight 5 days a week. Most of the anti-social problems are stemming from the home; not the classroom.

@ agreed. We saw it during Covid. Granted we are choosing to homeschool in my home, but I have the care and knowledge base to do research and I know what I can’t teach (like Spanish) so I use resources like homeschool groups to make sure they get that education. I just don’t believe that a lot of homes would care to do that sort of thing because of a variety of reasons including but not limited to a lack of time, income, or they don’t care

Fantastic interview. As a side note, I am a public school teacher and I don’t disagree. The schools disappoint me more and more every year. In Iowa, we do have a voucher system, and I do have my kids in public schools, BUT I do a ton with them at home. If you choose to keep your kid in a public school be active at home. Also, I strive to be the best teacher I humanly can, so that the students I have get what they deserve.

Here's the truth: making corporations pay for their damage isn't anti-business - it's pro-fairness. Why should your taxes pay for environmental cleanup while they make record profits? Why should your kids breathe dirty air while CEOs buy their fifth yacht? Real capitalism means businesses pay their full costs - not privatizing profits while dumping expenses on the public. Don't let them trick you into thinking their right to unlimited profit matters more than your right to a livable future. The choice isn't between jobs and regulations. It's between an economy that works for everyone and one that enriches a few while leaving us with the bill. Time to stop letting them socialize the costs while capitilis8ng the gains.

Regardless if Graham doesn’t believe public libraries serve a function, they are more than book repositories. They offer tons of FREE services. As crazy as it sounds reading and libraries are no longer mutually exclusive. It’s more than just books now and has been for a long time. They are a NET detriment to society based on who typically works in them and the agendas and policies they actively promote. There are exceptions but we'd be better off without them as they currently exist. The librarians of my youth are mostly long gone and unlike my mother I could never leave a small child alone there for hours to read with the adults there.
@whysoblutube2 күн бұрын
@@feeseize9569 why would you drop off your child at the library for hours at a time, though? Libraries aren’t there to babysit your kids - they aren’t playpens. That would be irresponsible parenting. What do you mean by who “typically works there” and “agenda?” Public libraries are democratic and secular institutions. ALL are welcome. But hey, if folks want to doom scroll all day instead of reading a good book or visiting their local branch because they have some preconceived notion about them that’s all on them.

Love the first question about what has happened to Family, Men, Etc. Which really could simply be what happened to society as a whole. I'm a little bit older than NIck at 54. I've been paying closer attention to politics, culture, with a heavy focus on media and its history. My answer about what has happened is two fold, Although both are a result of the Internet/Communication/Information age. On one side I think the internet destroyed our sense of wonder and desire to explore, That in the past would force us to adhere to wise words of Tolkien through Gandalf to Bilbo Baggins. That the world is not in your books, It's outside your door. So many checked out and began to live vicariously through social media/online culture, Rather than having to go out and have to engage with the world. Then second the Internet majorly empowered the people and exposed the ruling class. So since the mid 90's and the people's awakening and rise in power. The ruling class has been working overtime to completely change the relationship dynamic between them and us. Opening up Pandora's box of divisive topics to hopefully get society to end up in a perpetual state of despair, anger, depression, uncertainty, and hopefully in the end broken and back to being completely dependent on them. Willing to do as we are told and be happy with whatever world they graciously allow us to participate in. Society over the last two decades has been coming to terms with almost a century of propaganda and psychological manipulation through the ever evolving mass communication.

The Inflation Reduction Act will indeed reduce inflation. They just forgot to mention that this will only happen after a few decades of continued investment in energy self-sufficiency and diversification of energy sources, and the most important part for everyone today, that inflation will get worse before it gets better, and the public is the one paying for it. So, I agree, good marketing on their part, leading the sheep!

John adams quote "to have a free society, you need a moral one." means that for a society to truly function with individual freedoms, there needs to be a strong underlying sense of morality among its citizens, where people generally act with ethical principles and respect for others, preventing chaos and abuse of liberty; essentially, freedom without morality can lead to individuals acting solely in their self-interest, potentially harming the greater good.

Soc “There's never nothing going on. Take out the trash Dan. The trash is anything that is keeping you from the only thing that matters, this moment. Here, now."
