The government’s role in driving agroecological practices in Kenya

Recognising the importance of conserving biological resources, the Government of Kenya is taking action to improve the food systems in the country to ensure that people have access to safe and nutritious food. The Greener Greens project has collaborated closely with the Department of Agriculture of Murang'a County Government. This partnership has sought to support the development of an Agroecological Policy to promote the adoption of agroecological production in county planning and financing. This initiative seeks to integrate agroecology into Kenya's agricultural policy frameworks, thereby ensuring a sustainable and safe food system for the people of Kenya.
