She hadn't been tuned over for over 18 months Chris so needed a little help from the Sentinel...The controls are something else...just like three signal levers inside the cab.....great fun...Best wishes...Bob

Excellent as usual,Bob. Nice little loco and nice to see a re-railing that wasn't performed by a committee with no clear leader, just the HI-AB driver and one man on the ground. Straight on in one. Marvelous. Regards, Pete.

Thanks as always Peter, in real time the unloading took ten minutes, and there were three people involved. having said that, it's the first time I've ever seen a loco delivered by a crane on the back of a lorry. Best wishes...Bob

Thank you Bob. I looked it up on the P&B website,where did it start work? Obviously in industry, but such light loco intrigues me.Regards, Pete.

Pete Knight It spent many years at Southall Gas Works, then at Corus up in the North East of England, it went to the Swansea Vale Railway, up to the P&BR, and now to the L&MMR....hope that helps...as a new arrival at Cynheidre and privately own, I haven't had a chance yet to get its full history...Regards...Bob

Brilliant video Bob. Its a small diesel, but great to have an addition to the railway. It was easy to lift of the lorry with the HI-AB straight on to the rails. Great to see her working after some perseverance. (C&A)

Thanks Rich, first time I've seen a diesel bump started as well, probably possible because it only weights about 6 tons....Best wishes...Bob

Great film, Bob, interesting push she had to get it started, at 3m 25s you can see the drive chain bouncing severely, as if the tension needs adjusting!

Well detailed captured and edited video Bob, and a fine day to film the event. Well done to the staff member for sticking with it on the footplate until the little Ruston kicked into life! She seemed to run quite nicely once she was running. Any idea what power rating she has? The Sentinel is a bit of a brute by comparison and looks powerful! Do you know what her power rating is? I'll take a look on the website as I'm always in favour of volunteers opening up old lines of the past. I did notice an old GWR sign but assume this was latterly a coal line, or have I got it wrong? Well done to you and the volunteers. Thanks. Ken
@robmasterman10 жыл бұрын
Thanks Ken, it's the first time that the Ruston has fired up for about 18 months, unfortunately at the moment, I can't answer your question as to their respective power output....This centre is built on the site of the old Cynheidre Coal Mine, and the line that served it was running as a tramroad as far back as 1802....Regards...Bob
