THE GOWNSHOP was excerpted heavily in Warner Bros' 1949 compilation short JUST FOR FUN. In fact, they actually reversed the second and first reels, putting the chase ahead of the gags in the first reel.

Hi Ray... Yes you're correct. In fact I used some of that footage in this reconstruction. (By the way, it IS Monty Banks (with Sid Smith) and not Tyler Brooke in JUST FOR LAUGHS. We have a still from that short, but so far haven't pinned down the title. I posted the clip here kzbin.info/www/bejne/rZq9q5ekoLqEkKM

Larry Semon seems to be largely forgotten today and receives little love from silent cinema buffs. But in his day he was far more popular than Chaplin, Keaton or Lloyd. Unfortunately he made some bad financial decisions and his career was over by the late 1920's due to severe over-spending on his productions and became heavily in debt and died in 1928 before the end of the silent era.
