We back. Thank you so much for the feedback. We get that it was a rough journey for the GoXLR users for some time, so we're happy to see that people are still welcoming it into their setups! Although, we don't want it to feel like we're just updating the thing and then everything's fine - we get that there might be some confusion or trust issues. We strive to be as transparent as possible so in case you guys have anything you'd like to ask here and now, feel free to reply here and I'll give a fair shot at answering any questions coming my way. A 6 year old device that only got 3 and a half years of development…I’d say playing catch up is fine - as long as they are refining the ‘catch up’ features in a way that makes it just as good or better than the best implementation on the market, it gives me hope for the V2!

Great vid as aways, but for once I disagree with ya :) Goxlr is the only device that lets me hear myself back in real time, with all of the vocal effects applied, without latency issues. The other devices you mention start giving me latency in my headset when monitoring myself with the filters, compressions etc applied. Drives me nuts. Combine that with how well the goxlr handles 2pc setups. and For those reason I'd recommend Goxlr above the other options for anyone that that can afford it. Plus I love my shure SM7B Really excited at the prospect of a Goxlr 2. I've tried the beacon, and the others you mentioned here, and they are amazing on software, but a huge step down on hardware. It felt like they were trying to cut corners on hardware and make up for those cut corners with software. and it would probably have worked, if I'd never experienced a GoXLR. A Golxr 2 that retains the quality hardware, with more modern software is my dream. Or a beacon that retains the software but gets better hardware would be great! The size of it doesn't bother me at all. If good hardware takes a little extra room on my desk, keep it big baby!

Yeah, that is golden! I set up a button on my Stream Deck to switch GoXLR profiles between the headphones profiles and the speakers profile.
@terryshaw13Ай бұрын
Same, having speakers plugged into Line Out, headphones plugged into headphones. Then I have the "system" fader set to headphones and use the mute button for that to mute all. So to switch from speakers to headphones is as simple as turning speakers off, and un muting headphones. I was tempted to switch to Elgato's solution, but they as well as any other "modern" device only have one output source. Which means to be able to switch from headphones to speakers requires a separate device to split the audio which then ruins the space saving advantage of the newer products. I've never understood why other products do away with a second 3.5mm port.

Hello everyone! I’ve been using the GOXLR Mini for couple of years, and I can confidently say that in terms of streaming on Twitch and creating content for KZbin, it’s one of the best interfaces out there. Pros: It has a relatively decent microphone preamp. While it gets quite noisy at the maximum level of 72 dB, it operates relatively quietly within the 60 dB range. I’m also pleased with the ability to use it for dual-PC streaming. Cons: The Rodecaster Duo is existing. It’s obviously much more expensive, but the price difference is entirely justified. I don’t like using 3.5mm jack cables to connect two PCs together-it feels outdated. Plus, this type of connection tends to introduce noise, and you might need to buy an additional ground loop noise isolator. The DSP is generally good but less capable compared to the Rodecaster. Conclusion: Buying the GOXLR Mini is a great choice if you’re on a budget. However, if you can afford the Rodecaster Duo, the choice is obvious.

GoXLR user here (big one, with the motorized faders, and also probably my first time commenting on this channel). I got this used for about $250 at a Guitar Center (thanks Harris for inspiring me to look for one when you first made videos about them), and while I'm more of a producer rather than a streamer, having a good quality interface for your mic was important (using a Shure SM7dB with it ATM). Frankly, after about seven months of use with it, I can say it's one of the best interfaces that I've worked with. As stated, I'm more of an EDM producer instead of a streamer, so I ended up having to use a headphone amp to drive my headphones. I probably wouldn't recommend it, given the DAC wasn't designed to use for music production, but it still sounds good imo, and honestly, most headphones will work with it. Plus, given the current features it has rn, I feel like it's relatively easy to set up, as long as you can overlook the dated software, which leads to my next point. I do hope they build upon the software features to match those in line with current competitors, and while I do agree with what Harris says regarding trust on a 6-year-old product, especially given how long it has taken them to add Submixes, I do have hope they can bring it back to its former glory, as I believe this could still be a #1 for many streamers and content creators, especially if they want the essential hardware at their fingertips. That's it. If you read this far, I hope you have a lovely day! Love yourself, okay?

I reached out to see if support could replace it and they said since it wasn't registered, even though I have my receipt, they wouldn't do anything for me. I ended up getting a Wave XLR and going down that route but I've never been able to replicate that clarity and smoothness of my voice (I'm a bass). Gunna crash the party up in here and say ive been using my Go XLR Mini for probably three maybe four years now. Its great. i like having complete control over all my audio for my live streams and for regular youtube videos. Its right there, i dont need to touch the software ever, it just works. I dont think I could live without it now!! i love being able to play music to myself while having it muted on stream and just have that at the push of a button. i like the swear bleep button too. and i love the simplistic approach to EQ aswell. I have NO IDEA what im doing, i just make my voice sound good through my headset and im done. Lil bit of extra bass on my voice, 45 compression and done. thats it. i could play around with it more to get that radio voice but im happy the way it is. if only i could solve why my mic has a strange gentle bobobobobobobobobob noise on the line XD my terrible cheap mic does not but my AT2020 does :( much sad but never mind. Go XLR Mini is very tasty and i love mine.

I used to rock my GoXLR Mini but i wont anymore. My biggest issue was it had its own electrical noise issues... For a product like this the shielding is very lack luster and people are like "yeah just get a cloud lifter" etc this etc that. I connected mine via surge protected power sockets (even tried on a seperate circuit) and optical to pc + xlr for mic and i ALWAYS had a huge feedback through the mic and often through headphones too. While it was a great product, i cant say to get this over a waveXLR anymore. Sure i miss the faders, i miss the feel of the goXLR but personally it had its own shortcomings which i couldnt live with.

You're right about the laggy software, but weirdly enough, there is a difference between input and output faders. The input (system) faders, as shown in the video, are laggy, but the output fader with, for example, headphones feels smooth and direct.

Had my mini for about 3+ years now and it's been great. When I heard it wasn't supported anymore I looked into replacements but nothing stood out for me. Now that it's getting updates again I don't have a reason to switch. Maybe if I was a new streamer I wouldn't pick the goxlr first but it's good enough now I don't need to switch.

I bought the full size GoXLR 4 years ago, based on Harris' reviews of it. I have never regretted it, not for one single second. Quite the opposite of it's "lack of features" being "deal breakers" I find all those newer "modern features" to be a bunch of extra crap that I'll probably never use. I have zero interest in "updating" and why would I? The GoXLR has everything I need and I'm happy to stick with them.

Real question: why doesn't anybody put Optical ports for input AND output? If there was a version of the GoXLR with 2 optical in and out, I think I'd pay $500 for it. I absolutely HATE aux audio. Optical is cleaner, better sounding, easier to use, you don't have to deal with static, and I literally can't remember a time where I had an optical port or optical cable go bad. On the flip side, my Headphones slot on the GoXLR died, and absolutely screeches if you plug anything into it. Sadly it happened after I was out of warranty.

Yes why go through two Analogue to SPDIF tansformers when you could go through a single ADC/DAC. Use thicker/higher quality full copper aux cables with gold plated tips and itd be the same

I've had my full-size GoXLR for a few years now and have been happy with it. The only real downside is the size, as you mentioned. Also, I tested mine and I can move my sliders faster than you were moving yours with no lag. I have to move mine ridiculously fast to get it to lag. Wonder if it's an issue with just the mini?

I got a mini for $20 because it was listed "for parts" but it just needed a new USB cable. I mainly wanted it for the preamp and If you can get a GoXLR for a decent price, go for it.

I think all the updates might be just quality of life for all the people who stuck with it and didnt upgrade.

My Goxlr now has random half second cuts in audio every 10 seconds or so, works fine direct connections but using the goxlr now causes this i think its hardware and age related xD

I'm still rocking the mini. Still works well, unless I bump into it. Having an issue with the USB B port. I move it a bit too much or the cable and it turns off and on again. I've replaced the cable so it's something internal.

Bring your own faders, hide the box. That should in theory be possible for the GoXLR with the community app, if you have faders that can be programmed. I have enough to set it up with the PcPanel Pro for myself (with custom software), but right now I am using the Revelator interface, that's also possible to setup this way (but lacks the numbers of channels). The WaveXLR is possible to get that working with, but as there is no open API for it that works with the latest version, it's going to be rough. Have some other interfaces as well, but not tried to see if they would be possible to use this way.

thought it was cool how haris mentioned about the rodecaster lol i've been back to using mine as I was still using the goxlr as it has all the different audio sub mixes and nows theres the update with the Rodecaster to have sub mixes and its wall mounted so no desk space impedances in my own space personally also edit I remember the video of haris saying he hates the shure Sm7B and now uses it all the time in product showcases allthough having that being said he did show it off as an example orginally alothough he also had that one blue yeti condencers mic he used in his old studio those were the days lol

@@2EpicGaming I don’t remember ever saying I hate the sm7b. The thing is an absolute staple in the audio industry. There was a time where every streamer wanted that $400 mic even when they couldn’t afford it and I disliked that. I intentionally used cheaper mics to show it wasn’t necessary. Maybe that’s what you’re thinking of. Either way, maybe I should consider cheaper mics again to prove their value. Thanks for the reminder, homie.
