Well I loved that one sequence when all the concierge's just went from one to the next in a way to help each other out. Simply wonderful.

There's one thing I wanted to say about this movie for years: this deserves an Oscar best picture way more than "Birdman". I've watched serious movies like "Birdman" many times before it, but I've never seen anything as whimsical, poetic, melodious yet serious in its own way as GBH until itself. And not to mention the vibrantly colorful scenes that make The Grand Budapest Hotel truly worthy of being called best "picture".
@maxek463 жыл бұрын
Completely agree. I'm surprised how underrated TGBH is, especially when compared to Birdman, which although not bad, wasn't anything truly special.

True story: One of the greatest accomplishments in Concierge history was when a Concierge in Rome arranged a for the mother of one if his guests to have a private audience with the Pope! The truly great Concierges can make just about anything happen.

Realized the other day, if a movie was made with this same story and cast of characters without the signature Wes Anderson cheerful and goofy colors, symmetry and awkwardness, it'd be terribly sad throughout.

I can tell you from personal experience if someone with a Texas accent leaves Texas for long enough they start to sound Australian or like a new Zealanders. I was in Japan for 2 years and I started to sound like a kiwi.
