The Grand Canal is an impressive and awe-inspiring UNESCO World Heritage site. As the world's oldest and longest canal, it ranks among history's most impressive engineering feats! It connects the Yellow and the Yangtze rivers, running all the way from Beijing to Hangzhou near Shanghai, and it's not really a stretch to say that China as we know it would be markedly different without the Grand Canal!
