First time I've heard this organ. The chamade trumpet sounds very impressive! Might even give St Paul's chamade a run for its money!

I will buy it though: the organ sounds fabulous. The Susato is a perfect demonstration piece for big chamade reeds and is not that hard to play either: one of my favourites.

The Orchestral Trumpet is striking indeed. Sounds very true to it's name. Ever since I heard the first L.P. of this organ (1967), it's been one my favorite organs. But in this and other recordings, I notice breaks in volume and tone in certain ranges, the highest and lowest octaves of the Trumpet. I wonder why these issues have never been corrected. Still, I love the sound. This organ also has excellent Diapason choruses, bright, yet bold, and numerous other wonderful voices. The best recorded sound I have heard is the L.P. I spoke of, with performances by Noel Rawsthorne, Flor Peeters and probably the last commercial recording of the legendary Jeanne Demessieux.

Would this L.P. be the one with the Yellow cover? If so, I recently bought that at a record shop and it's fantastic.

Daniel Ryan Daniel, Sorry for this delayed response. The computer I had at home died, and a new one is not in the budget now. so I must go to our library to do this. Yes, this must be the album you refer to. It has a closeup view of the organ on the front. I believe it was recorded in 1967, on the London FFRR label. Subsequent recordings of this organ don't seem to have the presence or feeling of closeness to the organ as this old one does . Glad you share my enthusiasm for it. Sam Schaeffer.
