I get the joke, but thats not what he means at all. The BBC is a politicized PC organization, its all about being politically correct, and making sure not to offend the 0.1% of the population that are special snowflakes and are looking for reasons to be offended about. Leaving the BBC was a blessing for them.

I met James in Japan when he was doing the “Our man in Japan”. I walked up to him and ask if he’s James May, while the camera was rolling (I didn’t see the camera cuz it was a crowded scene). He politely said the camera was rolling and after the shot he came to me and we had a conversation (and of course a selfie). Nicest guy ever.

The feeling i get from a lot of more or less famous people is that it's all about respecting their time. Thats why the resturant example is so common for so many of them, people interupting their dinner. But if they have the time most of them are quite willing to exchange some words and take a picture or whatever.

To be quite honest, i kinda liked american top gear in the later series, when they sort of found their own identity. A bit like Car Trek now, sure it's obviously inspired by Top Gear, and The Grand Tour, but it also has it's own identity.

This interview just shows how amazing the comedic value is just by having these 3 in the same room. BBC struck gold... Too bad for them they couldn't appreciate it enough to realize that nothing can replace this. Good thing Amazon saw the same thing millions did. P.S Matt Leblanc fronted top gear isn't bad. Its honestly great as a car show. Its just nowhere near the dynamic that James , Hammond and Jeremy had. P.P.S James May is the best of the three!

Fantastic editing to have the interviewer's question be drastically difficult to hear with unbalanced audio. Thankfully they have captioned audio so I can read the words I'm hearing. These three guys are BRILLIANT! I've been binge watching all of the old Top Gear shows because I've finished all three seasons of The Grand Tour. What they have is essentially put a car show together with The Three Stooges and I am saying that in the best possible way with absolutely NO disrespect because I love it and God help me, I LOVE these guys. I would love to just sit down with them for a few drinks and some conversation.

I just rewatched this and remembered being in the crowd at an antiques roadshow show (I'm in the background of the episode!) and before the shoot there was a lady picking individual pieces of grass off the carpet and flattening down the lawn in the background before they polished the presenters shoes while they were still on!

Lol I come from Homs, I was born there and lived until 2015 in the city. It's fun to see them mention it. We had a TV channel that broadcasted Top gear regularly.. so a lot of people know them.
