It is recommended to do this hike counterclockwise 2 hours before the scheduled low tide time (therefore, tide times to check before doing this route).
The trails covered during this hike are as follows: Le Chemin du-Nord, Le Tour Cap-à-l'Orignal, Le Grand Tour and Le Scoggan.
The Chemin-du-Nord trail, easy to walk, runs along a series of beautiful little coves. This path is lined with pretty flowers as well as several species of mushrooms.
The Lyman chalet, which dates from the 1920s, is located on this trail. Today there is a tea room. It is surrounded by magnificent wild rose bushes.
This trail ends shortly after the chalet. This is where the hike becomes more difficult and requires a minimum of balance and agility.
The Cap-à-l'Orignal sector offers a great challenge for hikers. The scenery is stunning.
However, you have to be very careful because we are walking on shale, a very sharp rock, and we also have to climb in some places to cross steeper passages.
This path leads to Anse à Mouille-Cul. We walk on a beautiful large beach to get to the opposite side of this bay and thus continue our hike on the Le Grand Tour trail.
The Le Grand Tour trail is also a hilly area where caution is required. It is not a developed trail. We cross a crumbling shale cliff and we also have to do some climbing.
This trail leads us to the Fourche à Louison where the Le Scoggan trail begins, leaving the coast and plunging into the forest.
This trail is easy and has two belvederes that allow us to get pretty views of the Baie du Ha! Ha!.
It brings us back to Anse à Damase where we take the Le Chemin du-Nord trail to return to Ferme Rioux, our starting point.
