The Granite River: Boundary Waters Canoe Route

Did this route with my scout troop in 2015. We paddled across Gunflint lake to access the river. Had some excellent fishing, saw a swimming bear, beautiful scenery. Good memories..

Did this route in August 2009 with my daughter. I'm trying to remember the one place where we bumped through I think was the moving water. As I remember, there was a chute about 15 to 20 ft. wide that ran for 120 feet or so. We didn't see the portage on the west side and a canoe went through right ahead of us. We scraped a few times, but it went well.
