I can relate and understand exactly what he is trying to say. He is describing a truth that is taking place during addiction. We look to the Greek origin word for sorcery for his illustration of the state of his spirit being filled with an undesirable spirit. That word is pharmakeia. Pharmakeia, pharmaceuticals, or pharmacy or just what it is, evoking spirits. Though there are righteous sorcerers like the doctors who manifest Tolenol, Nightquil, and antibotics; unfortunately there are unrighteous sorcerers who manufacture herion, crack, meth,etc. So our fight and road to recover is not about overcoming the drug but about protecting ourselves and defeating the source of the substance/potion/spell which is the sorcerer/witch/warlock/drug dealer.
