Barok Van Zieks leg-slammed the witness stand, showed the soles of his fancy boots to high members of the judiciary, brought his expensive wine and chalices to court, had a toast _ and most importantly _ he didn't shift the blame of murder onto himself nor left the defense to do all the work. We need more accused prosecutors like Barok

The first cross-examination was one of trickiest I've ever encountered, I became so accustomed to verify the evidence, having it updated thinking that's everything to it. I didn't realize I had to pay attention to the characters' comments too

Good stuff w/Barok and Iris in the lobby. 8:42 Nice surprise. 0.0 I liked the mix of Gina emotion- humor w/Ryu's name, etc. & sadness over Gregson. Her learning to read was pretty cool. Wow, the developments w/the (unlocked) trunk, steamship info, and Seishiro as a target. Barok's speech at 34:00 Awesome. Quite the Stronghart, Gina & Ryu lines at the end. Thanks for this!

This is it the final chapter of The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles and we don't get a intro either just straight up a cut to the courtroom lobby which make sense since this is a direct continuation to the last chapter.

I heard that this game series was meant to be a trilogy originally, but lack of initial sales and mediocre interest (plus no initial overseas release) caused the game to suffer, and just have it set to 2. Seeing as how things are already in the conclusive parts in the 4th trial (and presumably right into the 5th after) already, that would make sense.

Interesting. I thought it had to do with Ace Attorney Investigation which had 2 games.

Actually, that's a misconception brought about from interpretations of GAA 1 producer Shintaro Kojima that the Great Ace Attorney 'had potential to be a series', which a lot of people thought at the time to be that a trilogy was planned. The truth, funnily enough, was that GAA1 and GAA2 were supposed to be one scenario for one game, but when Takumi realized he had written too much for a single game, he ended up having to cut the scenario at a point where he thought all the cases would reach some kind of resolution. The following is from an excerpt from the 2017 Nintendo Dream interview with Takumi, art director Nuri, and GAA 2 producer Eshiro regarding the creation of GAA 2's scenario: Interviewer: When did you plan the scenario for this game? Eshiro: The story’s connected deeply with the first game, so that’s something people will wonder about. Takumi: Planning of the main concept of the story started early 2013, when we started working on the first game. The concept behind the previous game was to create a “new, different Gyakuten Saiban.” Now I look back, and I realize I was far too ambitious. I wanted to make something that wouldn’t lose against the original three Gyakuten Saiban games, a game that could stand proud next to them. So the whole thing became bigger and bigger in my head. Interviewer: You called it pressure, I think. Takumi: Yes. So the story concept kept on growing. And originally, I wanted to have all of that in one game, but some time into the development process, we were forced to change the direction of the project completely because there was simply too much to cover. So then we decided to make one game that could stand on its own, with all the cases there resolved. Eshiro: All the cases in the first game did feature a conclusion, but as the scale of the original story concept was so big, it still featured many unsolved mysteries, more than we had expected at first. Interviewer: Yes, the cases were all solved in the first game, but there were also people who were very surprised it ended the way it did. Eshiro: Yes, there were also discontent reactions from players, but there were also people who said they were now interested to see how things would unfold and they looked forward to the sequel. Seeing such feedback from both sides, gave me the resolve as the producer to start the project to create the sequel Interviewer: And this time you yourself joined the team. Eshiro: It took me a lot of effort to start the project, for example due to internal scheduling. Thanks to the help of many people, we were able to start with the project with as motto to solve all the remaining mysteries. So I told the team countless times to create an experience that would leave the player satisfied. And the team really did a great job there.

@@impossimadnescyAJ In fairness, this game's budget was considerably smaller than the first one's, as shown by all cutscenes being rendered in-engine. (Hand-drawn animation is anything but cheap, after all.)
