After leaving school and was buying my own books, I was horrified to find out how much I was never taught about our First Nation folk. Learned about European explorers but not the caretakers of our land for many thousands of years. That they were used as slaves, that weren't consider human (terra nullis) but had to conform to british laws, the massacres, that pacific islanders were stolen and used as slaves, etc. Would be enlightening to new generations to understand what really happened here, to understand the pain so therefore be more compassionate to the damage done by our British ancestors.
