"What Thay transmitted to all of us, as his students, was this deep confidence that in each of us is the possibility to flower like Thay, to flower like the Buddha, to be such a beautiful flower"

Thank you Julia, I heard him say the same thing at the last 21 day retreat Thay gave in Plum Village! I had forgotten those words and appreciate your reminder. And I am also reminded how deeply we are interconnected.

I will never forget attending a "day of mindfulness" event at spirit rock meditation center in wood acre ca, circa 1999. The moment I laid eyes on him, walking slowly, holding hands with children, I burst into tears and cried for ten minutes. Such a powerful teacher. Such a powerful peace.

Thank you, who brought the essence of Buddhism from the East to the West, who connected the harmony between religions, who transformed the higher philosophy of Buddhism into ordinary joys in everyday life... Even though he's gone, he's not gone. He is still here, in the hearts of wise and peace-loving people🌻🙏🙏🙏

That's the key that I'm re-learning minute by minute: It is okay to feel however we feel, as long as we are present with it. I've been trying to give these feelings lots of space. Right now I'm finding that listening to this Great Bell while I work helps me focus a bit better.

"Listen listen to the sound of the bell May all who listen transcend suffering and Awaken from forgetfulness" Such profound memories listening to the Great Bell at monasteries all over the world, particularly before 6 am practice! Grateful for this opportunity to continue listening to our bell, and listen to my heart as I touch so much gratitude for Thay's teachings, and all of his ancestors that have continued through him and now, through us.

I was initially feeling heartbroken learning of Thay's passing from this earth. But, then, I began to feel so grateful. So grateful for the wisdom he bestowed to us, and always letting us know that we are his equal. He's changed my life in more ways than I can count. Thank you, Thay. Thank you. Breathing in I relax my body Breathing out I smile Staying in this moment I know this is a wonderful moment Thank you

5 Fave Thay quotes- -Waking up this morning, I smile. Twenty-four brand new hours are before me. I vow to live fully in each moment and to look at all beings with eyes of compassion. -Awareness is like the sun. When it shines on things, they are transformed. -May our heart's garden of awakening bloom with hundreds of flowers. -We are here to awaken from our illusion of separateness. -Thanks to impermanence, everything is possible.
