The Great Depression

This is a lecture on the origins of the Great Depression in 1929 during the Hoover administration. What were some of the economic factors, how did the federal government fail to react proactively, how was the depression compounded for farmer by the "Dust Bowl" of 1932 through 1937 and what was the impact on Mexican immigrants and Mexican-Americans.
One of the more shameful actions of the federal government was when Hoover ordered an attack on a peaceful protest of World War I veterans who asking for a bonus that had been promised to them. You can see an excellent documentary on PBS: The Bonus Army.
