I do not tell my children that they need to be more like David in this story... But, i do tell them that Jesus goes before us in our battles and that God was preparing david ahead of time for this...... BECAUSE David's heart was tender torward the Lord God, even as a Shepherd boy.... which led him to be cut to the heart when he merely tore the corner of Saul's robe in the cave. David saw and recognized and accepted that God anointed Saul as King... not the people. Yet, david could see that God gave the people over to their choice of King. We saw that when David sternly rebuked Michal for holding contempt in her heart when David returned from battle. .... I will say that David aquiring many wives and then forcing Michal to return, when her husband at the time was weeping behind her, was very cold of david. But how do we know that he had not already repented for treating her as a commodity. We do Not. But we do know that he was praising The Lord for winning the battle for Israel and he Refused at that moment, to withhold Due Praise. ..... ..... ..... .. God Bless You All In Truth and Repentance. - In Christ, Christina
