So I see you are using a head set. May I ask what type/kind you are using? Would like to get a set up for the wife and I. Thanks. Safe travels and fair winds!
They are called Marriage Savers out here in the boating world! They work really well. We have had them for four years and still working great.

@@RLoose9494 It sure is. One caution is that they seem to be made for medium to learge heads. My head is small so I wear a baseball cap under the headset so it doesn't fall off.

It was wild alright! 🙃

Why did you choose to lock through barkley dam instead of heading back through the canal and locking through KY dam then down Tennessee river to the OHIO river at Paducah. Much shorter trip.
@FreebirdonTheGreatLoop5 ай бұрын
You are right, it is a shorter distance. We call the locks ahead of time to understand the barge traffic waiting. The Kentucky lock is much larger, therefore has significantly more barge traffic. All three times we have passed through, we have been advised by the lock masters to use the Barkley Lock.

Hi gang, how deep is the water your gonna anchor n and do you have enough supplies ?
@FreebirdonTheGreatLoop7 ай бұрын
Hi Roger, the sand bar anchorage was about 32 feet deep when we anchored this time. With the strong current we had to put out a lot of anchor chain to hold overnight. Maureen made sure we had enough supplies for at least 5 days on anchor. Thanks for your questions.

@@FreebirdonTheGreatLoop hi captain, is this yalls first loop ?
@FreebirdonTheGreatLoop7 ай бұрын
We are still working to complete our first loop. This is the second time we traveled on Freebird from our home port in Chattanooga up the rivers to the Great Lakes.
