In 1989, the Chinese government agreed to allow an Australian production company to make a TV series about the People’s Liberation Army. It was the first time they allow western television this kind of access. The producer revealed the mystery of the People's Liberation Army at that time with special insight and a clear angle.
Tiananmen Square massacre occurred a few weeks after the filming has been completed.
