The Greater Coucal.... believed that sighting this bird brings good luck

The Greater Coucal birds are large, crow like with a long tail and coppery brown wings and found in a huge range of habitats i.e from jungle to cultivation areas and urban gardens.The sound of the Coucals are deep and resonant.
It is a popular belief in many parts of India that sighting this bird brings good luck and prosperity, also symbolizes protection and good health. The birds feeds on insects, small reptiles, fruits and seeds.
