My dad was chuffed when he heard you were in Spiddal with somebody from The Waterboys no less!

Beautiful! I fell in love with bluegrass music over fifty years ago, and also Irish music. I like the speed at which you're playing this tune, and those triplets fit in perfectly. How about a 'We Banjo 3 play Bluegrass' CD someday? 🙂

Love the outline at the beginning. Red text: unnecessary A7 chords! The humor joking about a bluegrass reel is nice too. You have every right to teach it! Look forward to watching the rest.

Great lesson and, wow, that studio is beautiful! I really liked the over the shoulder angle. I can finally see how your picking hand is positioned over the bridge lol. Appreciate you!

This sounds great!! Thanks for the adventurous style blending! It's so good of you to bring the cousin's together and it sounds fantastic! The camera angles are great. Deluxe!! I remember trying to slow the tape down in the 90's to hear what the notes were. The four angles is a whole other ball game entirely! I look forward to hazarding a pass at this one. Hold on to your saddles!! 🤠

em ... how's it that Spiddal rings a bell with me, funny' Watch out they don't chase you out of there with your "bluegrass" (joking of course). I love it, especially the very short kinda pauses and the sweeping chord. Is there a tablet you could give us to swallow so that we can play those cool tunes, now that could be an idea for you (sorry, joking)

Ha! I wish you'd stop with the Bluegrass...I take enough banjos to jams as it is (often three). If I take the tenor, I'll lose my BG license. 😄 Seriously, I've always played these "notey" fiddle tunes on the mandolin as they're really too much for me on the BG 5-string (unless I'm just vamping chords) and very muddy on the CH 5-string. I'm not Bela or a Kreuger or Ken Perlman. Sounds great on the ITB, of course (and neither am I an Enda). I sent your previous BG (Whiskey Before Breakfast) video to our mandolin player..."too many triplets, too Irish!" (he does attend our IT sessions though). I finally tuned my G string to A...I like it a lot. It adds enough tension to keep the floppiness out and the string now sounds and feels better. Only a very tiny percentage of IT music dives down to G, so it makes sense all around. The 4-camera setup: I'm not looking at either the over-your-shoulder shot or the distance shot (both on the left side of the screen). I think the over-the-shoulder shot hides many subtle finger movements on your right hand that are better seen looking into your hand from the oblique front. The close up of your left hand is my primary view...but I'm going on 45 yrs of playing, so perhaps I'm no longer trying to sort out what I need to see! Thank you and another "well done" from South Carolina.

@@IrishTenorBanjo I've used several online courses but never had to use two separate sites and I made something easy a little hard. Got it now and if I had read I would have seen the to follow. Thanks

@@rodneymitchell401yeah I understand that there’s a little bit to workaround. It’s because I use Soundslice as a teaching platform. It’s the best that exists online, but they don’t offer a subscription service. Patreon handles subscriptions but have very limited additional tools for what I’m providing so for the moment I’m caught between Patreon and Soundslice.
