Noodle foam is key actually. Archimede's principle: Any object, totally or partially immersed in a fluid or liquid, is buoyed up by a force equal to the weight of the fluid displaced by the object. The foam is what carries the boat and stops it from sinking. Thus meaning if you put the foam too low on the bottom, the boat will become unbalanced and wonky. If you use team tent's method putting the foam further up roughly in the middle it will balance the boat better making it more stable.

I think the issue is that the other team chose a much heavier member and a much shorter boat. Team Tent went with a smaller but taller design so it wouldn't get water inside easier. If OTGay chose Qt to paddle they might have won imo
