Looking at the Steam Charts, Revelations 2 had a peak of just 3600 players. Compared to RE7, which came out just two years later and had no multiplayer component, 7 has an all time peak at 18000; 5 times the amount of players Revelations 2 ever had. Even now, the single player game consistently hits a 24-hour peak that's also five times higher than the game with a substantial multiplayer component. Looking at it, the only two Resident Evil games a lower all-time peak are Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil Revelations 1. Even Resistance has a higher all-time peak. "Nobody played" might be hyperbole, but it is amongst the least successful Resident Evils.

One thing to keep in mind about dodging in Rev1...The X button isn't needed at all to dodge, unless you want to dodge and turn around at the same time. All you have to do is move the left stick upwards at the right time. Be careful, though, you can't do it if you're already moving forwards. It's really strange how this game lies to you and fails to explain how the didge mechanic really works.

Raid mode would do well as a stand alone concept, not those odd PvP ideas they gave us Use the full roster, from Chris to Ethan, from Wesker to Heisenberg. Use levels from any game, RE1-6, Code Veronica, Zero, etc. They are sitting on an amazing concept for a separate game or bonus game to next main game

25:50 The ability to take these parts off weapons without destroying anything was another thing added into the Switch version but never retroactively updated into the PC one. I went from first playing the Switch version of the game over to the PC one and then realized these differences much to my dismay. Revelations 2 Raid Mode had the most enjoyable mechanics and content, but Revelations 1 Raid Mode had the most impressive maps most notably the Ghost Ship. Revelations 2 Raid Mode needed something of that scale instead of just a small boss arena in the end. Loved these two and hope to see it picked back up again when Capcom starts to realize that making standalone games based on successful modes do better than these half-hearted PvP ones.

Something I don't like about the "characters" in Resident evil revelations 1 is that they don't mention the debuffs or weakness of each characters. Most of the time it's little changes like -10% reload and rate of fire on a weapon class or two but then you have some like Rachael Ooze where she gets - 60% dodge time window, -20% rate of fire and reload on all weapons, -21% defence, and -20% splash radius. Also Ninja Keith has -24% defence in which you can notice, sometimes some attacks just instantly killing you. Pretty significant to not mention

There is one reason to try and beat the Revelations 2 stages without using any revives, but it's not a very big incentive. Pretty much, if you use a revive and manage to get all the medallions in a level, then they'll show up normally on the mission select screen, but if you get yhe completion medallion and don't use a revive then the medallions will have a sparkle effect on the mission select screen. To my knowledge this change is only cosmetic. Speaking of revives, I believe you can have up to 30 of each type, and in the Switch version they made all the stuff that costs real money instead just cost gold, so you can use your large surplus of it to stay stocked up on revives pretty much forever. I'll admit I used them a lot in my journey to get a completion medallion on every level, along with abusing local co-op to bring along a second character to shoot extra rocket launchers, which were still pretty strong despite said character being like 20+ levels below the enemies. The Switch version also technically has two different raid modes; there's local mode, which is effectively the game from before online co-op was patched in to the original game, and online mode, which is after online co-op was patched in; this is important since the online co-op patch raised the levels of all enemies in code red difficulty by 10, since I guess the developers assumed you would always have a co-op partner. This combined with revives not costing real money definitely makes the Switch version the easiest one to complete, and I'll admit that I probably would not have gone for all the medallions if there was only the version of code red from after the online co-op patch.

Thank you for bringing to my attention how much content the raid modes have. Back then, I thought that the few first levels were the whole modes. It seems like there is more to it than I assumed. My first time trying out the raid mode was on the ps vita with Rev 2 and enjoyed every minute of it. Only problem I ever had with the Vita version was the occasional stutter and aiming wasn't the greatest but I got used to it after some time. Overall best time waster on the go just too bad I lost everything but after watching this I might just have to pick it back up again

Booted up raid mode 2 again a few weeks ago and have been having a blast, just like when it was new. I was apparenlty just a few levels away from beating the story and now am going through code red while also working on a cyper build. The servers seem messed up, at least on xbox, which is a shame, but at least it also has split screen. On the closing thought and also life crystal, yes, raid mode 3 will amost certainly be a live service. At any point i got tired of grinding, i would just play sloppy and use a few life crystals. I would occasionally cheese harder levels to get the no herb medallion, but then that created a personal challange not to. Blue crystals being tied to daily missions was a nice way to encourage coming back, and potentially see later levels early since its random. The rest mechanic encourages breaks, and also feels very player friendly. I'm imagining a R.E. engine raid mode 3 and i know it will have a forced paid respawn mechanic, new characters will be at least 10 bucks a piece, and emotes will be in a battle pass. I really hope to be proven wrong on this.

I've really wanted to play this game, but I just can't jive with the Mouse controls being borked on PC because its emulating joystick. It makes the game feel imprecise regardless of how well you aim. I know its a small niggle and, looking at the footage, it doesn't look like you had much problem with it, but it was pretty frustrating.

Nah I had problems too, I googled for a "fix" that I found in some steam forums that involved changing ini files in a config. It improved things a little but it never felt perfect. Since I felt too lazy to re-learn the controls with a controller I just stuck with M&K till I got used to it.

Love the shit out of both Raid Modes, it's crazy how games back then had side modes that were either as big or bigger than the main campaign. Sure it's repetitive but it's fun and I'm tired of RE fans complaining about the action in the games when the action has allowed the people working on these games to create such fun and innovative gameplay that we really don't see anywhere else. Say whatever you want about RE6 but that game's combat system is the best out the entire series. Action is what kept RE alive after all these years, embrace it, fuck spooky dooky horror shit that isn't scary in the first place.

I have such a love/hate relationship with RE6 cause its action setpieces are on CoD/Fast & Furious ridiculousness & its QTE spam is horrid, But it got some of the coolest movement out of any third person shooter with a kind of questionable control scheme. And the stamina bar is annoying. But man when it WORKS….

This is absolute garbage. Have you tried Solo Mode? Raid Mode on Abyss? They didn't bother to rebalance the game for solo players, and as a result it's almost impossible to finish. And worst of all: the second HD version that came out four years after the first HD version...they STILL didn't bother to rebalance Raid Mode for Solo Players. The 3DS version didn't have this problem.
