Respect to those judges who run up to the stage and comfort the contestants who get a bit overwhelmed and start crying. For most of those kids, this will be the biggest moment of their life so far, so I imagine that it means the world to them to be told "hey, it's ok, you did great" by the very people they're pressuring themselves to impress. It also shows the humanity of those judges who don't even hesitate - they just see tears and head straight over to the kids, as if in "parent mode". It's always refreshing to see a bit of kindness in the world - even on a TV singing competition.
