When I worked at Mars Music from 2001 until they went out of business in 2003, I had a coworker who once took a Danelectro Sitar Swami, walked over to a JCM2000 full stack with an ESP in hand, plugged in, dimed the gain, set the master just above 0, hit the pedal and spent about 5 minutes noodling before looking up and proclaiming, "This pedal sucks." That kid was my hero.

I built myself a spring reverb - entirely; the spring tank is made from cardboard, a spring, and two piezos with hooks on them - into a cigar box and had the whole top of the box to label it. So I made vinyl decals of a little fairy character from the Touhou Project games and titled the unit: The Lily White "It's Spring!" Reverb.

One of the most epic pedal names is the "Pussy Melter" from Steel Panther. They only did a limited run of this pedal. I actually have the schematic for this circuit and build them for anyone that requests it. Surprisingly nice sounding distortion. A lot of the guys I build these for say it is a permanent fixture on their pedalboard now.

The best pedal names come from Indonesia (you have to try them, Josh!). Made by Sehat Effectors, it's called Masjidil Echo (taken from a habit, in Indonesia, that every mosque always put ridiculous amount of echo for everything - speech, call for pray etc).

I have a monophonic octave pedal from Eleca called "Black Hurricane". Got it for like 35 bucks, and it's actually pretty cool, though a little glitchy at times, which I kinda like. Seems to be hard to find now, at least last time I looked I couldn't find one for sale. But I think that's one of the coolest names for a pedal I've seen, and it gets some pretty cool glitchy/synthy/fuzzy octave sounds, and it's kinda fun having a pedal that I'm pretty sure Josh doesn't have :P

Ive had many wahs before and after this, but nothing is as versitile.it can " mimic" 99.99% of other wahs, and signature model tweaks .I kinda wish ibanez made some other expression pedal units like this. A phaser would be dope, stage selection," trigger" mode, rise fall, "step", and have the pedal asignable to rate, depth, or mix... or even a volume pedal/ gate, as long as it had swell in AND out, and was as adjustable as the wah

My favorite pedal name was one that sadly was never produced. Shortly before his Snarling Dogs company went out of business, Charlie Stringer announced plans for a dual ring modulator pedal to be called “Bangkok Bed and Breakfast.” Kind of out of character for a Snarling Dogs pedal.

In the Czech Republic there's a brand of Joyo called Razzor. The Joyo Ultimate Overdrive is called the Hellraider. Look it up; Razzor Hellraider. Looks and sounds exactly the same as the Joyo because it is the Joyo, just as Harley Benton pedals are Joyo. I have about 3 or 4 of these pedals. You should have one too, or else, how are you ever going to survive Josh?

@@tungtobak there are certainly better options. I would say, if you use a more quality cheese, stay in the more mild and buttery category. SPAM is essentially a very salty ham product (without getting very specific), so anything that's too salty or funky would likely not compliment that.

Record time - Josh have you recommended the album "Painted Shut" by the Philly band, Hop Along? I was listening to "Under the Umbrella" by In the Company of Thieves and it has tons of the same vibes as Painted Shut.
