I am a Coptic Egyptian Christian and I live right across the street from her church in Zeitoun. St. Mary appeared more than once in multiple churches in Egypt for a purpose. Her apparitions were to give people strength in times of trouble that they were living in or that they were yet to live as Christians have been prosecuted in this country for a very long period of time and her apparitions were like a consolation for what her children had to live through.

You must be living in a dream world. Why would a secular media promote such a thing? Furthermore, why would the heretics in the Vatican promote it? A greater apparition than this took place in Hrushiv, Ukraine in 1987, when Blessed Mother, for the second time in less than 100 years, began appearing on the roof of a small Orthodox church, one year to the day of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant disaster. This is the only time in the history of Marian apparitions that She was visible to everyone and spoke to everyone in attendance, including Soviet Union Government officials who were there trying to stop the apparitions. In addition to hundreds of people seeing Her, Russian news stations also filmed the events. I've researched many of the apparition sites for more than 40 years, and I myself have been in the presence of Blessed Mother on four different occasions. What the media & Vatican choose to report, has nothing to do with reality, only politics. Never forget that since Vatican ll, the Vatican now represents Cesar, not Jesus & Blessed Mother.

No one I know has ever studied the Marian apparitions as I have, and the two greatest apparitions, which involved the most people seeing the Blessed Mother, were Zeitoun (Egypt) and Hrushiv (Ukraine). The Mother of Jesus comes to Earth continually and allowed by God specifically to remind people of her Son and to guide humanity back to her Son and the Gospels. Sad that Christendom as a whole doesn't understand her apparitions on Earth are ALLOWED by God and as simple as a loving call from a loving mother " to call back humanity to her beloved Son". @crushtheserpent I'm not sure it does that so much as just encourage people to believe the supernatural exists (which is beneficial, don't get me wrong). We don't even know if this was Mary. That's just what people have hypothesized. I was watching a video about this event a few months ago, I no longer have the link but it was much longer (30-40 minutes I think). As a small part of it (I heard it and thought it should have been a much bigger deal), the narrator was talking about an interview done with a guy who had seen this apparition. The guy had claimed that "Mary" continued to appear to him and even spoke to him. The apparition encouraged him to look into a book he had never heard of before. When he looked into it, the book was all about the occult and other related topics. Whatever was appearing to this guy, at least at that point, was not a messenger from God.

As a Protestant, I will grant that many people saw a figure. It appears to be well documented. It's a miraculous event to be sure, but to what end? If from God, what was the point of the figure appearing? I'm not sure how we ought to interpret a figure appearing and then ceasing to appear or how to know from where the figure comes.

Interpret it in light of all the other Marian apparitions. La Salette, Fatima, Garabandal, Medjugorje. There are plenty of great docos on the later three. Unlike Zeitoun, Mary spoke to groups of children at all of the listed events with very clear messages and prophecies. Check them out. They are life changing!!
