If junk's guess on ovilee had been correct, he wins. So he was right to guess ovilee even though he got the guess wrong.

@@run_sun it’s the best social deduction game I’ve ever played, theres a lot of focus on talking to people ( both all together and in private groups), if you die you still get to participate, the games are like 2 hours long and it works well online and in person

The point of impostors being able to kill by guessing roles is to prevent the game from devolving into all the crewmates claiming their roles and immediately voting the impostors out. In the short term this helps the other team, yeah, but in the long term it helps keep the game fun.

You should ban role claiming. First it's a scummy way to win that requires zero thought process. Second it will force people to actually play the game. The best lobbies don't allow role claiming or exposing other players roles. It forces people to think and be creative.

that's the point of the guessing mechanic tho - if a role gets claimed, there's three different roles that can immediately punish it. also, imp wins enough in these lobbies that it's not a big deal yet. if crew starts to win significantly more, then dd can always up the guesses to keep up. the guessing is a complete counter to it tho.

The problem with banning role claiming in social deduction games is people just come up with elaborate code words and methods of communication to role claim anyway. It's completely futile. If people want to do it, they'll find a way around your rules. The way to solve the problem is to A) Remove the incentive to role claim. In Among Us they try to do this by giving every evil person the ability to assassinate if they know your role. That means that if you try to communicate information about your role in any way, that allows the evils the chance to assassinate you (and no getting around it with clever communication because evils can also understand your communication). If you go with this option, you do need make sure that the negative consequences of evils knowing your role do in fact outweigh the advantages of crew knowing your role, otherwise people will roleclaim anyway and just accept the negative consequences. B) Remove the strength of role claiming. To do this, you simply allow multiple people to be the same role, which allows imposters to safely roleclaim to without getting any sus. So for example, you'll have an imposter claim detective and there are 2 other real detectives out there and none of them get any sus because, well, this is just something that can happen. And the crew don't get any meaningful information out of the roleclaim strategy because imposters can easily lie their way out without any fear of getting sussed. Personally I'm a big proponent of option B.
