In January of 1977 I saw the CHL Kansas City Blues tie one of the touring Soviet teams 4-4. It was an incredible game. Blues got off to a 2-0 lead, Soviets scored 4 unanswered goal then the Blues came storming back in the third period and tied it up...and almost won the game.

I can look at my notes and give you more details later when I have time but the biggest name was definitely Pat Quinn, who played 606 games in the NHL with 131 points as a defensive defenseman. Quinn would go on to coach Vancouver, Toronto, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and Edmonton for a total of 1,400 NHL games.
