That season the Bucs Defense Dominated the "Greatest Show on Turf" in the NFC Championship Game IN St Louis. Held them to II points. Warner had less than Two Hundred yards passing and Three Picks. Problem was, the League wanted the Rams in the Super Bowl so the Bucs got Robbed on a "No Catch" for First and Goal for the Bucs late in the Fourth Quarter on a Fourth Down Play. Bucs WR caught the Ball, but was ruled incomplete. The next season the NFL changed the "Catch Rule". Refs literally changed NFL History with one well placed bad call. Still doing it today.

Some quarterbacks are "gunslingers" (e.g., Brett Favre, Bart Starr, Warren Moon, Patrick Mahomes, John Elway, etc.). Others are just smart guys with a strong arm (e.g., Peyton Manning, Aaron Rogers, etc.). Some are smart scramblers (Joe Montana, Russell Wilson, Steve Young, Roger Staubach, Steve McNair, etc.). A few are true duel-threat runners (e.g., Lamar Jackson, Michael Vick, etc.). However, some quarterbacks have that special "touch." They can just place that ball exactly where it needs to go. These are the rare breed of NFL QBs. I would include men like Tom Brady, Randal Cunningham, Sam Bradford (when he was healthy)...and Kurt Warner. While elite quarterbacks of any category are difficult to find, the lesser QBs in the same categories are still close enough to win games. However, the difference in the gap between those with the "touch" and those without it is pretty immense. Consequently, if I had to build a team, I'd first build it around someone with that "touch." In fact, I think that Kurt Warner is right up there (in terms of the gifted delivery of a football plus acumen) with Tom Brady. If the right coaches had known this, I think that he could have had multiple SB rings.

That would’ve been a hell of a matchup. I’d probably put my money on Baltimore. In my 40+ years of watching the nfl, the only defense I’d even compare to the 2000 ravens is the 1985 bears. Just before the 2000 playoffs, the rams were starting to get that greatest show on turf aura again after their injuries at the beginning of the season , but then came that TD turnover by Hakim against the saints in the first game of the playoffs, a team they beat just the game before, otherwise they would probably have beaten the rest of the NFC en route to a matchup with the Ravens.

I just watched American Underdog on Netflix. It's one of the best stories not only in nfl but sports history. On top of that, Kurt Warner is such a great and humble guy. I wished he would have won a super bowl when he was with the Cardinals.

What was interesting to me is how much Kurt Warner was even better than his stats in this game. I saw so many dropped balls deflected off his wide receivers' hands and that was against one of the most vaunted defenses of the time. Kurt was a class act the whole way.

I was 10 in 1999 when me and my dad started watching every Rams game. I even remember seeing Dick Vermeil cry on Inside the NFL when Trent Green got hurt in pre-season. It was hard not to get addicted to the NFL when this team is your first experience watching football!! I'm 32 now and still a Rams fan. Looking back I just now notice how weird that stadium was. The lighting is too artificial, the turf looks nothing like other fields, it just has a unique look, almost looks like they're playing in a warehouse.

What sticks out the most is how much the game has slowed down. The intensity of the defense, people flying off the line, hitting the quarterback, defensive backs flying all over the field, the hits.. a type of football we'll never see again.

@@kvngirvng9475 Don't forget Steven Jackson. Actually the franchise's all-time leading rusher and was such a beast in the 2000's with them. He had more single-season yards from scrimmage than any of them had with the Rams in '06 with 2,334 yards except for Faulk's '99 season. (Yes even more yards than Faulk's 2000 MVP campaign and Dickerson's 1984 2,000 yard rushing season) He isn't as good as any of those three, but definitely deserves a mention here.

Ray Lewis was a monster in this game. You can see the formation of an all-time great defense in this game. What they were missing was a solid QB. It seemed to always be a problem for the Ravens. Elvis Grbac was a total flop, Kyle Boller was a draft bust and Steve McNair was too old. It's not until they drafted Joe Flacco that they were able to win another Super Bowl. Lamar Jackson is the first franchise QB that they have had. Crazy to think about.
