Sorry to be a stickler but as a French baller I have to interject. Yves Mariot's Roulette is actually what we call in English the "Rainbow Flick". There is often confusion because in French "roulette" refers to the rolling motion done with the feet - not the ball. José Farias, Argentinian player for Red Star, is actually the man who popularized the ground Roulette or the "Marseille Turn" as you put it in France. He played for RC Paris and a couple other French teams before retiring and being a coach in France. He played in Southern France where his trick became very popular. The rest as you can see is history. Maradona is Argentinian and Zidane grew up watching him play close to home.

If you make a part 3 you can include Mahrez and his shot feint. He is the best and most effective player at shot feints I've ever seen. He uses it every game and even has a clip where he fools three aston villa players with one feint.

@ShaneGallager3 ай бұрын
Maldini did it first.
@badsolja13 ай бұрын
@ShaneGallagerج Maldini considered tackling is a defender making his first mistake So he rarely ever tackled Meanwhile Nesta was the king of tackling and this definitely his signature move Maybe Maldini did first but Nesta popularized it
@ShaneGallager3 ай бұрын
@@badsolja1 Maldini only considered tackling as a last resort and with the great Milan defense of the late 80's - early 90's deteriorating around 1994 he was forced to tackle more & more, and when he did he did that tackle a lot & sometimes he would do a variation of it, instead of back-heeling it from the attacking player he would roll it back with the inside of his right foot & he would turn around & get up & started an attacking run from the back. Baresi could actually do a pretty good one himself, he did it in the 1994 WC I think it was against Bebeto, but he tackled even less than Maldini, which is where Maldini picked up that attitude, the five best defenders of the late 80's to early 00's generation were Baresi, Nesta, Cannavaro, Costacurta & Maldini, & the previous generation of Gentile, Scirea, Cabrini, Bergomi & Collovati who were the Italy backline for several years was just as good. But the Milan backline from 04 - 06 of Cafu (RB), Stam (CB), Nesta (CB) & Maldini (LB) is the most perfectly balanced backline in club football history, they also had Costacurta, Serginho, Simic & Kaladze as backups on the bench, Serginho during that period was playing better than Roberto Carlos. I also hold the Juventus backline of the mid-90s very, very highly, which had the likes of Porrini, Pessoto, Ferrara, Montero, Dimas & Vierchowod.

What about the Harry Maguire "lunge".....the precise timing needed to extend the leg into a totally dead space, having already lost the ball 2 seconds earlier. When executed properly, the ball will actually be on it's way into the net, just as this futile, hopeless "lunge" is being completed.

@ 5:28 .lol Calling Messi "the greatest of them all" reveals you are not a serious football fan. Maradona will always be the greatest footballer of all time. Here is why: 1. Napoli 2. 1986 3. The deepest bag of skills. 4. Intangibles: Speed of thought, the will to win, passion, tenacity .. 5. Personality Pele is second.
@FreeKickMaestro3 ай бұрын
Two of the things you named aren’t football ability related, nice. Pele is better.
@FreeKickMaestro3 ай бұрын
Maradona didn’t particularly have many memorable seasons. He has that 1986 World Cup and some moments with Napoli. That’s it mostly. Players like pele, Messi, Cristiano have had much more consistency.
