@@flitegodzilla3554 it may take a while, but keep at it, you’ll get it. The best part is that once you get it, you’ll probably have it for life. I played trumpet in high school, and I managed to squeak out a high a at the very highest. I could get a high g consistently. After high school, I didn’t play for something like 10 years before I came across another trumpet by chance at a friend of a friend’s house. @@chuckb9595 air is definitely one of the most important parts when it comes to playing in the extreme register. Maybe not necessarily the amount of air, but volume does play an important role in getting that crisp tone and volume (I know it's mic'd but you can still tell from the sound that he's playing extremely loud). Even if you've been playing for 30 years, it's likely not something that an active lead player would know very well, just because it's quite a specialized area of the instrument. This is the best transcription of this I’ve ever seen! The only thing I can pick up that may have been missed is at 0:21 during the flugel part, the second measure that’s on screen is missing a Grace note from a D up to that E that lasts for the and of 3 and for beat 4, and I think the first note of the triplet in the third measure on screen should be an A, but I’m no expert lol. This is awesome!
