top teams are cool and all but these kinda major oddities for me is what makes the major so special. BNE (greatest modern orgless team), GamerLegion (the miracle major finalist) , and MongolZ (top-8 team from the most unlikely region) all have such crazy storylines and it was incredible to watch them unfold oh and also asstralis as the polar opposite of all these lmao
@josh-qj2zu22 күн бұрын
Underdogs make counter strike counter strike. Counter strike esports aren’t really like franchised sports leagues like NFL NHL. They’re much more like march madness. Shit can happen. Team collapse in an instant. There are upsets, heartbreakers, buzzer beaters. So when you see a bottom seed division three school beat duke in basketball you’re like LETS FUCKING GOOOO
@Joseph-z2kjdbdbekdb22 күн бұрын
Nah, gamerlegion is no where near as impressive as what ence did in 2019, or the immortal gambit final. The entire Paris major playoff was t2, so a t2 org getting to the finals is far less impressive than the previous underdog plays.

What people will never understand if they never saw the game against G2 is how INCREDIBLY INSANE this bo1 was. Even the commentators where literally slamming BNE saying even that G2 is going to "mop the floor with them", everybody was saying they are going to lose. The game is so crazy that I re-watch the match every now and then, admiring every single player. I also think it SENER1's 1v4 clutch was insane while they were down 5-10, it was the turn-point of the map. In my opinion, the best bo1 in all of csgo.

Some extra info: They did train for the first major they qualified at a fans house, because they had no camp place to play together. Rigon mentions he had to drive to state buildinfs to fix the passports for the teammates while also teying to be on time for practice. Flateoo did around 6k in damages celebraring the qualifying, which was paid in full by the sponsor of the team Gjirafa50. Also he busted the coach's lips with an elbow hit while celebrating. They had to book theit stuff and manage everything since they had no org. They gave us so much emotion, I do not think people can comprehend the scale. There was people going to dates with their phones out watching rhwm live, in hospitals, at home wirh our parents who had no idea what cs even is etc... It was truly a joyful emotional moment for us all so thank you for the video ♥️

BnE was my favorite underdog team, watched them play against FaZe in Paris and I was screaming don’t go into OT and don’t go into Map 3. A year later it was so sad when I woke up to them losing the RMR, if the stars were just a little different I can see them qualifying.

Funny thing about that series vs Faze: after it ended, BNE actually won more rounds than Faze did. Really unfortunate they couldn't close that series when they could in map 2. I miss the BNE 😢

I remember times where I would watch the games in class, and scream with my friends when they pulled off some of the nastiest moves ever imaginable. That game against Faze in Rio was unimaginable. That night, not just us Albanian CS Fans were watching, but the whole Albanian World was watching. There were cafes and gaming centers full of people who had never watched CS, watching the game and when karrigan dropped in that 1v4. The whole Albanian world was in euphoria. A night to never forget.

An interesting fact about the round at 30:38, ropz described this round as the best round he had ever played in his career in an interview with thorin. It was last round of regulation, and faze were about to be eliminated He was in a 2v3 (effectively 1v3 as broky was on other side of the map) and he hit 4 to 5 perfect timings to avoid getting double peaked and played around them perfectly.

As a FaZe fan, that elimination bo3 and the veto is still absolutely BAFFLING to this day. Karrigan is known for his veto mind games and unorthodox picks but that was a DISASTER: you are facing elimination and total embarrassment by going 0-3 as the previous major winner for the first time in history (no other major winner did this bad in the next tournament) and you are playing against a very dangerous team that needs to be respected. What did they do? They allowed BNE to pick FaZe's LITERAL PERMABAN Vertigo (they banned ancient, a map where they rocked BNE's shit 16-4 in the previous major), picked Nuke which is alright, and they left Mirage, perhaps the most puggiest aim-based map in the pool, a place that every BNE player has etched into their skull since they played it a million times in FPL. And they choked a 15-10 lead. This is just incomprehensible especially for a #1 ranked team but there were rumors about broky's alleged gambling problem going around at that time so they probably didn't have the right mindset going into the Rio major, which showed in their 0-3 exit.
@milliondollarart16 күн бұрын
