Havlicek played until he was 37 years old, came in 10th in MVP voting his Rookie year and still averaged 16+ ppg game at the end of his career. He never played fewer than 71 Games in his career and usually played more than 75. I was in the 5th Grade the year he retired, I didn't understand Basketball at the time but they talked about whether he would or would not retire ALL THE TIME until he finally pulled the trigger.
