I love the fact that Shri Trichy Sankaran, though a doyen of Pudukkottai bani, refers to Mani Iyer frequently in his lecture! Such is the camaraderie and respect :-)

What a vibration and the tonic pattern created by this maestro Sir Prof T Shankaran, amazing to see him playing at this age. Hats off to you Sir. So much info you have shared from this lecture demo. All youngsters should digest this info and learn some basics about handling the mirudangam. Maha Vidwan god bless you Sir. Have been long time fan of yours. 👏👏👏👏👏

The way he plays is exactly what he played during his teens. Twenties spirit in eighties of age also. This is what Sidhi means. His physical constraints due to age is not at all reflecting in playing. Amazing

As Professor Sankaran said, Guru Bhakthi is important than anything. One must learn this divine art through deep devotion to Acharya and the vAdhyam. Needless to say, Professor Sankaran is not only the torch bearer of Late VidwAn Pazhani and as well, shows his deep respects that he showed while he was under the tutelage with the former. Very sad not to see Neyveli Venkatesh in this lecture demonstration. He is the only artist that really brings out the style after Sankaran sir. The reason why Sanjay uses Venkatesh because of the way he beautifully plays the sarvalagu
