This movie is a slow burn focused on a man wrestling not with monsters and demons, but rather himself. This trailer makes it seem much more action packed than it is, so it threw people off. If you take the film as it is, it's very well done.

Thanks for your comment. I just watched the trailer, and, based on it, I wasn't sure if I was going to watch the movie, as I'm not a huge action movie person. The trailer really made it look mainly like an action movie, which is not my thing. But if it has depth to it, and is not only about action, but also about a man wrestling with his demons, that sounds like a really interesting combination, and a really interesting movie. I think I will watch it, now that I know that, so thanks for the info.

TO be Fair, in most of the arthurian stories, even those focused on Arthur, hes not the most compelling character. It always tends to be his knights, or merlin or morgan la fay to name a few. So more movies like this based off these other stories would be really interesting. The trade of subsaharans as slaves began some time in rhe 6th to 7th century, and so did the gene exchange that made arabs and other semites and south europeans a little darker. So I lean towards thinking Jesus Christ has fair skin but semitic features.

In modern translations they are not always referred to as Giants but as Ogres or such but the original text makes it pretty clear: Gawain meets dragons, wolves, wild men, bulls, bears, boars and Etaynez/Giants.

Looks like this upholds the true *weirdness* of Arthurian/medieval legend. A lot of adaptations try to make these stories clean-cut, sensible and realistic, but that’s far from the spirit. Arthurian stories either need to be over-the-top comedy or weird visionary crap like this.

do not expect anything nearly as riveting as the original tale. Prepare yourself for infinite walking on trails, riding a horse on trails, and seeing things that never amount to anything from trails.....for what feels like days. This movie -if shown on a continuous loop to prisoners -would be considered a human rights violation.
