For me, the game developers had a really neat concept, but because the puzzles were so difficult with no hints (especially for the secrets), it took away from the atmosphere. For someone whose whole job is puzzles and escape rooms, having to look up all of the solutions is telling. I hope the amazing concept but better puzzles makes its way to episode 2!

Hypnotism may not have any real power, however an odd thing occurred as I was watching this. When the doctor said 1. take a deep breath, I took a deep breath, at the same time as Gab did. I laughed it off, but when he said, 2. you're perfectly relaxed, I said, "Never!" at the same time Gab did in the video. I'm willing to bet a bunch of other people did exactly the same thing.

Hypnosis definitely has power, but only the power you allow it. It works with that part of our brain that’s so intensely powerful it can change the way we feel and behave despite having contradicting external stimulus. For example, a large amount of people think that ginger ale helps nausea and stomach problems but there’s no reason it should, if anything it should do the opposite. Ginger itself certainly helps, but ginger ale doesn’t have enough ginger to be beneficial, and the carbonation scientifically should make nausea and stomach aches worsen. So, why do people report feeling better? Placebo, the belief that it works makes it work, and that’s essentially what hypnosis is. It’s also been scientifically proven that placebo remains effective even after people are aware of the reality, once you form that connection between something and a desired outcome it’s harder to change than simply the knowledge that it isn’t supposed to do that. Which is probably why hypnosis used in certain medical settings, I’ve personally been offered a referral to a hypnotherapist specialist a few times but they never followed through. I was offered it for pain management, to see if I could willingly change my own perception and pseudoscience myself into believing the pain didn’t exist. Never got that appointment, so I can’t say whether it would’ve worked or not, but the fact that it’s an entire section of the pain department at my hospital says it must work for a good amount of people.

"If it hurts in a dream, does it hurt in real life?" It can! Used to happen to me a lot with a recurring nightmare. I'd get stabbed and wake up from the pain. My brain believed its own story enough that the pain lingered for a few minutes after waking. Obviously it didn't feel like I'd literally been stabbed, but it definitely hurt to some degree!

This happened several times 😂

The concept and the music was fantastic, displaying a lot of the dream-like qualities one can experience while asleep. I think a few of the puzzles were a bit more contrived, in which you would really have to do a bit of research outside the game to understand what was expected (the café, in particular). Hopefully, episode 2 will have a bit more balance between good problem solving and potentially a few more hints, even if they might be vague to provide a gentle nudge. Definitely looking forward to seeing episode 2 when it comes out.

The easter eggs seem to be completing the level and then returning to where you entered the level instead of continuing on. The piano recital is returning to the back of the theater instead of going through the hatch. The hatch is completing the descent (getting to the click) and then going back up. The storm was completing the wine puzzle then heading back up the steps you initially came down. The only exception is the church. Since you drop down, you have nowhere to return to when you complete the level. How you're supposed to know you go up the stairs, I have no idea.

so this is pretty much Myst in design. a dream state with puzzles. (edit) ya, this game is more akin to Myst then the typical room escape. In Myst.. the point was to collect the pages of the Myst book with option to collect either or both blue and red pages. the puzzle in the Myst franchise, more so in the first game, were vague to a point. The trick to those games is to explore everything and be meticulous. Check everything click everything, look for any clue. With a lot of it... it's largely down to trial and error, exploring options. unlike modern escape puzzles, these games don't just hand you a solution or solution clue it involves lot of testing and reading. i can guess Myst was a big inspiration for this game as a lot of the elements, and themes are similar. There is method to the madness and it largely boils down to exploring your environment and clicking all the things. These are also not meant to be fast games to go from "room to room" but slow and calculative games relying on environmental clues and story telling.
