Really enjoyed this. Great program and in this episode Elliot is just so down to earth. I hope he realizes just how talented he is and influential. These guys are gurus and it’s educational to hear real masters talk shop. “Workers” as he put it that really understand the effort it takes and that there’s just so much out there to pull in that it never ends.

Jimmy, thanks for this. EE is one of my top 5 guitarist & as a Masshole bassist who grew up in the 1970’s & 80’s near Boston who loved this band I enjoyed thoroughly. Elliot is so damn humble it’s amazing. Always love the Chet Atkins style solos he did in a band that was considered a “new wave”. It was so cool still is.

Oh man. Nothing warms my soul more than real musicians talking about the Beatles and their sound. I could listen for hours and hours. I saw The Cars at the San Diego sports arena in the summer of 1978. They opened for Styx. 1st and only time I did acid. Just a half and it was awesome

Elliot plays some of the tastiest licks for sure. Always carefully and creatively composed. I liken him to Brian May in that way. All their solos sound like they spent weeks composing them. They fit perfectly going in and coming out. And in between they do so much more than mimic the melody, scale variation or make random bends, squeaks and squeals. Their solos are separate but perfect puzzle pieces. Amongst my unsung guitar heroes...Elliot, Martin Barre, Glenn Buxton, Neil Giraldo, Steve Stevens.
