I remember a time when he did several one-man offBroadway productions at the beginning of his career -- there was literally nobody coming close to his range of characters, whirlwind energy and that punch of power he delivered in almost every line. Subtlety was not Leguizamo, but memorable/unforgettable was. Imo, the reality of him with an Oscar, Tony, or whatever is simply a matter of him deciding when.

@@beepboop9464 I'm guessing it's not a whole lot longer than two hours though; first two episodes are around twenty minutes each. Really enjoyed 'em. Two episodes every Drama Tuesday - even in the UK! ;-D

Me too. I don't think people realize what great range he has. The first thing I saw him in was To Wong Foo, and since then the roles he's played have been vastly different. Such a chameleon and underrated actor. I'll watch anything he's in.

Crazy how a comedian can become a outstanding actor but it just doesn't work the other way. I would rank John up there with the likes of Keaton or Hanks. He's a genius.

You need to watch him in Romeo & Juliet (as Tybalt) and Summer of Sam. Movies in 90s were great.

@@MarioCindricdefinately great films. Seen them both in theaters back in the day. Romeo and Juliet very overrated. Summer Of Sam had a lot going on but John pulled off a theatrical feat of various emotions.

@@MediaOneENT I was surprised actually how good was Romeo and Juliet, since I watched lot of Shakespeare's dramas in theatres. They really nailed old language and acting from theatre actors, it was like watching theatrical play at big screen with real special and visual effects. And I read it also 2x. And John nailed Tyabalt. But in Summer of Sam, he was savage, whole movie and rest of actors were savage. To me that's best Spike Lee movie.
