The Greens (House of the Dragon) - Hold on Hope

Well.... this last episode was... I had already edited Larys into this and it was too difficult to edit him out. When he first sat down with Alicent and her ladies because he could not hunt, I had such high hopes of their relationship, that they would bond over being two outsiders facing misoginy/abelism in Westeros. Instead we got a two dimensional evil creep with a foot fe***h forcing his attentions on an unwilling woman, cause this universe don't have enough of that apparently. So gross and offencive! I also wish they had not taken Alicent's agency and had given her more of an active role in crowning Aegon, she had plenty of reasons. That whole misunderstanding with Viserys was just silly!
But anyway, have some greens supporting each other/the team!

I love this edit and how it ties with the entire purpose of this story, that is the tragedy that was inescapable. Also, I wish we got sunfyre rather that the weird moment in this episode. SO, I too will hold on to some hope that the creators stop whitewashing the blacks and let the good and the bad of both sides show!

Thank you so much!! Yeah that was such a style over substance moment that was illogical from a character and plot perspective, I wish we'd got sunfire and all the other green dragons roaring at Aegon's coronation instead, it would have been so awesome! I don't think they're really whitewashing Daemon tbf, but the rest of the blacks for sure and it's sad, especially for Rhaenyra who has been deprived of agency in the same way that Alicent has, with all their more "morally questionable" actions given to Daemon or Otto respectively. At least they have to give us Sunfire in season 2!

Amazing edit! Really dissapointed by what they did to Larys character in this episode. He is quite intresting character in the book, and I had expectations that they would add that blood pact scene with him

Thank you very much! Yeah, he wasn't even at the council, now I think of it? What a letdown! I also saw theories float around the internet that he might be a greenseer etc and when he killed his own family and then played it so cleverly leaving Alicent in his dept for an act that basically benefitted himself the most, I was very intrigued by his character and I expected some great reveal of his motivations by the end of the season... only for it to turn out to be a foot f****h.

It is quite weird that makers made daemon save laenor instead of killing him even if this all make his marriage illegal but they can show larys killing his brother who in my opinion loved him and his father in cold blood , like wtf .

BAAAABE IT'S SO GREAT and make me feel so many things for the greens ahhh! I just love everything, the parralel of Alicent and Criston's rapes, how you showed that moment where Rhaenys asked to Alicent if she imagined herself on the iron throne with Aemond who WANTS the crown and Aegon who just doesn't, and "you take what is yours" with Aemond claiming Vhagar ahhhh! It was absolutely wonderful, I just adore it baaabe

@@KuningannaSansa Haha yes, in GoT I liked characters like Tywin, Cersei or Littlefinger but only as charismatic villains. I didn't think they are good guys who deserve the throne though. I was a Stark simp like everyone and rooted a little bit for Stannis and Dany too. But in HotD I don't like the Greens as villains, I don't think Rhaenyra and Daemon are less villanous than Alicent, Aemond or Otto. I love the family dynamics between all the Green characters and I really think they deserve to win.

@@pg1448 Oh yeah, same lol, but that's the point I think, the dance of the dragons was just a distructive civil war where everyone did terrible things and the smallfolk suffered, but I also think the greens are on balance just better/more effective rulers and deserve to win.

All this episode I felt only "WTF..." This is such a piece of shit, sorry) Alicenta's humiliation? As opposed to black? Destroyed really interesting character? Mmmm, delicious, HBO. I just want to spit this episode out. Also such a cringe moment with Rhaenys, the dragonfly flew off the reels and basically started a war, very clever... Your video is just a breath of fresh air after such trash. Despite all these tryings to make the team green worse, they are becoming more and more interesting. Thank you ))

Thank you so much! I was not happy with the Rhaenys scene either, it didn't make any sense for her to kill all those innocents and then REFUSE to kill the greens, which could have ended the war before it began. The writers say it's because she's a mother and didn't want to do it to another mother, but what about all the mothers among the smallfolk she killed? I can definetly understand why the smallfolk will riot and break into the dragonpit lol.
