Someone has to mention how this is a masterful example of puppetry. Imagine the work that went into this thing.

The griffin's voice sounds so much like Terry Jones doing his old woman voice I had to look it up to make sure it wasn't him. Turns out the griffin is voiced by an actor called George Little.

The Storyteller is in the works. This time as an augmented reality (AR) experience. This innovative and groundbreaking continuation will come in the form of a trackable storybook. And instead of John Hurt, acclaimed author Neil Gaiman will narrate.

What makes this kinda funny is that this beast is supposed to be a terrifying monster that as a matter of fact, eats humans for it's supper, and yet the beast is sort of unintentionally cute. Especially when it says things like "I could eat a HAAAOOOOUUUUSSE!!!" and "OKAY! Food Now!!". It also doesn't help that it wants scratches like a dog. Like this comment if you agree.

Honestly, "The Luck Child" is my least favorite installment of The Storyteller. Lucky goes through no character arc. If he is indeed lucky, why does it matter what happens to him? Why does the robber do all the work? And why isn't that terrible beast vanquished, so that no more people shall be eaten by him? But that's my opinion.
@Kingpin18802 жыл бұрын
Yeah, Lucky does just have everything handed to him. Maybe he appreciates his good luck? Who knows... As for the griffon, it's not the monster in the story; that's the king. He ends up force to ferry the boat forever. The griffon did nothing besides have a golden feather that everyone wants. Well... apart from eat people; you're right there, but that's just it's nature. Wolves eat sheep, lions eat zebras, griffons eat people. At least it's got a cook now that makes food for it, so now it doesn't need to eat people all the time.

My guess is that this story seems to be based on the fairy tale the devil with the golden hair and the griffon is un the positon for the devil here. In that story the devil also is left alone in the end.
@yosefdemby87922 жыл бұрын
@@rakdos36 That is indeed the basis for this installment. But it still doesn't answer my question: if the boy if to be a luck child and forever be lucky and victorious, why should we care about the overall story?
@rakdos362 жыл бұрын
@@yosefdemby8792 what im trying to say is that its based on a fairy tale and those were told without any care for any writing conventions. As long the story was entertaining to listen to it was told again and nobody even thought about your point. Alot of fairy tales fall apart once you examine them even the slightest bit.
