I did that traverse from the top of Highwood Ridge to Grizzly Ridge (then down Grizzly, across the creek and back up Highwood) and that traverse between the summits was just awful. I ended up way down off what appeared to be the main route and had to scramble back up too. Its honestly just an awful route and I'd never do it again.

I’m glad I didn’t attempt it then! Looks so doable on the maps though doesn’t it!

@@bravegirladventures5311 Oh sorry I realized this comment might be confusing. The traverse you did on the north end is the awful part. The southern part is easy. But ya it all looks really easy on the maps, and lots of people don't have problems with it.

Cool adventure. Thx for sharing. Did the dog's paws fare well in the scree and rougher terrain? Seems like they would be at risk of a tear and bleed.

Brave is on scree and limestone multiple times per week and his paws are well conditioned. The only time I’ve had to boot him is if the rocks are very hot on a sunny day.

Your definitely a mountain trekker like me, Down here in California Sierra Nevada I don’t have to consider meeting griz on and off trail. I know the kananaskis country is excellent griz habitat. I drove the highway north to Banff and those mountains looked so cool! Does this ever give you pause to hike up there? I have hiked BC and Alberta Rockies in Banff/Yoho/Jasper but never in your area. Are griz encounters a big concern?

I have had many dozens of grizzly encounters but so far they have all been peaceful. I make a LOT of noise when I’m hiking in attempts to at least avoid surprising a bear.

Cool traverse and great job getting down that nasty scree slope those are never fun and crab crawling is always allowed lol! No grizzly bears on grizzly ridge huh?

Cold intolerant?😄 Were you not in shorts hiking snow covered trails with cold gloomy clouds hanging overhead in your Jumbo Pass vid?

Weirdly it was actually warm that day! Even weirder, I was not the only hiker up there in shorts, I saw others! Strange weather day.
