Thanks for the recommendation @budget-builds official !! Finished off 2/3 of an adequate "console-tier" AM3 setup with the GTX570HD 2.5gb and Phenom II 945. It's worked very well as an emulation machine so far, with Dolphin working fine at 3x with almost constant max fps with minimal frame drops and running most games I've tested at very stable frame rates. Really do appreciate your videos man, they've got me very interested in building gaming PCs and PC gaming in general.

And older games like Bad company 2 can run 100-200fps 1440p it's pretty awesome! It does run hot though so just keep temps in check and you should be fine it's the best 50-60 dollar gpu out there!

I would just like to point out that the five series and below do not support DirectX 12 properly they only support the very basic level which means you might get some games to run but they will run worse than their Direct X11 options for example the rise of the Tomb Raider. Failing even that some games won't even run like Forza Motorsport apex. I don't disagree with your opinion this card is a fantastic budget offering however I would like to make everyone aware that it's one downfall is dx12 titles

Loved my 570, was the first card I ever had as I got into PC gaming in 2011 / 2012. I could clock the core at 930mhz and it ran everything maxed at 1080p. An absolute powerhouse for its day clearly but then the 680 arrived and I was too tempted and purchased the Galaxy HOF version with a white PCB. Still have it today in my media pc. Have a 1080Ti in my main system.

I've owned a few cards since the GTX570 (GTX670, 780, 1070 and 1080ti) and many more prior to it, but as far as exhaust temps go the 570 is the hottest card I've owned by a significant margin. I don't know what it was doing as the TDP isn't as high as the 780 and 1080ti and it was a fairly basic EVGA blower model (all the other cards I mentioned are blower models too) but it used to routinely kill the DVI-DL cables I needed to use with my monitor (not visibly melt them, but the connection just got more and more finicky until it just didn't work) and the backplate was well into the "touching this will hurt" temps. Maybe fan speed was too low, not sure, though I suspect the reason was that the average (if not peak) power consumption of the 570 was what was getting it so hot (hell it was fairly warm just sitting at the desktop as I recall).

THIS IS MY GRAPHICS CARD!!! No really, I picked it up for around 350 € when it was still modern, and it was beefy back then, and even today it is a very servicable card for most games, as demonstrated, with only the most modern or possibly worst optimized games struggling a bit. Even Crysis runs at a very acceptable 40+ fps at high-ish settings (there are some texture glitches in warhead, but it might be my card having a defect) with no discernible dips. Warthunder is much the same story, medium-high settings at 30-60 fps, depending on gamemode (naval battles seem to struggle more, but I assume water is badly optimized). Any beefier games I play (mostly Hearts of Iron IV and Cities Skylines) are usually bottlenecked by my CPU (a old AMD Athlon X4 running @ 3Ghz), the GPU only being an issue if I put the graphics settings to downright excessive, as graphics at the achievable settings are still fairly eyewatering anyway. One of the few things this card cant do is simply run games that require a 600 or newer series outright, like Nier:Automata, but if you can buy those off the rack, why are you bothering with a 570? The only other downside is the lack of shadowplay, which is introduced with the 600 series, which can be problematic, though Fraps can still achieve fairly adequate recordings even without it assuming you have an SSD as a HDD doesnt have the necessary writing speed I also have a backup 9800 GT eco (slightly lower clockspeed and much lower power consumption thus lacking the 6-pin connector), which i actually had to run a while after my 570 had fried a condensator or something in my PSU (PSU would overheat as the GPU drew more power until voltage would dip), so power consumption can be an issue if youre like me and refuse to upgrade a clearly undersized PSU (gotta respect it running for 3 years like that though), but a 9800 is still a fair little backup in these cases and deals surprisingly well with GTA V still.

NVIDIA = Still updates GTX 400 and 500 series and even gives them Vulcan support AMD = Drops support of HD 6000 series back in 2015, making them badly optimized for new programs *"AMD ages like fine wine", they said, how ironic this is*
@BudgetBuildsOfficial6 жыл бұрын
+Ashley Johansson: As I said in the video Fermi is a compute based architecture, terascale is not. Terascale has no way of running DX12 effectively, and Fermi doesn't support Vulkan.
@ashleyjohansson2306 жыл бұрын
Completely missed the point, the point is that old NVIDIA cards still get support for new drivers and yes, they do run Vulkan and even gets the vulkan support from the latest drivers but obviously that doesn't mean it will run it well. Old AMD cards don't get support for anything, even simply game optimizations whereas NVIDIA still gets it all.
@BudgetBuildsOfficial6 жыл бұрын
Nvidia Cards as I said in the video get bug fixes, not optimisations. AMD's GCN Architecture gets both, looks at Kepler, it's hardly competitive compared to it's AMD Counterparts. I appreciate that Nvidia offers bug fixes, but favouring them over AMD is just going to get you a bad deal. Look at the R9 285 vs GTX760..... The R9 285 is virtually a GTX780 Competitor now...
@ashleyjohansson2306 жыл бұрын
Invalid argument of cherry picking, i'm talking about older cards where AMD drops support quicker than NVIDIA does and same will happen with their newer stuff in the future. AMD dropped support for the HD 6000 series way back in 2015 where as NVIDIA still supports optimizations for the GTX 400 and 500 series. Its a matter of time before AMD also drops the newer stuff like the R9 285 which will make the GTX 780 the better card since it will definitely still get more support and optimizations decades after the R9 lost complete support. This is literally a fact, AMD drops support of older cards way faster than NVIDIA does, so basically NVIDIA cards last way longer than AMD cards, but AMD cards work better in their own generation and 1 or 2 years later which is irrelevant since i'm talking about several years later. NVIDIA cards as old as the GTX 400 series will continue to get optimizations until who knows when and in that amount of time who knows how much more cards AMD will also drop??? The HD 7000??? The HD 8000??? The R9???? Most likely. (Off topic, but the R9 285 beating the GTX 780 isn't really impressive, especially since its a year newer than the GTX 780, but actually almost close to 2 year difference so of course a card almost 2 years newer will be better, in fact its the other way around, the R9 285 was the disappointing card since it had to take a while for a 2 year newer card to compete against a far older card. If a card is almost 2 years newer, it should've beaten the top of the line card thats almost 2 years old out of the box. Same goes with Vega, I bet the Vega will eventually beat the old Pascal lineups because obviously AMD is notorious for releasing drivers that cripple their cards at the very start and will eventually fix that and also the fact that Vega is over a year newer than pascal. Comparing cards years apart is not a valid comparison)
@BudgetBuildsOfficial6 жыл бұрын

I actually got a pair of GTX 570 1.25Ghz for $20 from a computer recycler that hadn't tested them yet so she said I could have them for half the price of one that was selling on ebay at the time for $20, fortunately, the same card. Even if they didn't work, it was a cheap gamble but they did and they were surprisingly clean too! Minimal dust on the inside and even the thermal paste, which I'm sure is probably stock, didn't look crusty at all! I'm sure it was dried out but it was still moderately pliable. :) I put some arctic silver 5 and I'm gonna run them in sli and see how it goes for a nice little budget computer friends can use when they come over and double it as a NAS server with some large hard drives. Performance wise, I've seen some benchmarks of its sli performance that put it closer to a GTX 970, on games with good sli scaling (I think about 50 to 60% scaling or better) but definitely the 1.25GB vram is gonna be the ultimate limiting factor.

Strange to think that the card used to go for $5 as right now(early 2022) getting a gtx 470 from $150 to $70 is the lowest price you can get in my area(us

I have 3x GTX 580s with 3GB vram collecting dust. All pretty good overclockers, 850 to 900 on stock cooling, hit 1000 on water. Replacing all 3 with a Maxwell card paid for itself in power savings (California rates). Witcher 2 on uber settings drew about 1300 watts from the wall.

Great Video yet again ,who knew the old gtx 570 could do all of that.

I had this EXACT card, same cooler and all for a few years from 2014-2016 before upgrading to a 770, then a 970 later. Good older card for sure, still alive and well in my friends bro's pc.

agreed, dude. I certainly didn't expect 1080p 60fps on max settings in Rocket League when I got this card.

Oh my god... my dreams have come true....! I have been asking every tech youtuber to test MGS V. I mean, I meant TPP, but Ground Zeroes runs very similarly. Whatever, I perfer GZ anyway. Thank you and please keep it up.
@dennisjassmann75845 жыл бұрын
If TPP would have just stuck to the gameplay design that GZ laid out it would have been a much better game imo

I still have my KFA2 GTX 560 Ti, If i ever get another pc for some reason or get a external adapter for my laptop, I be using it again. Even before my upgrade to a GTX 950 it did everything i really wanted it to, such a beast if you get the right game that doesn't exceed 1GB vram limit.

I've still got three gtx 480 cards sat in a cupboard. Yeah, I was dumb enough to run 3-way sli with them hahaa. Although it did force me to buy an enermax revolution 85+ 1250w psu, which I still use to this day... absolutely rock solid

I have a 660 current and it works like a charm. It's actually a card that most games recommend, although it's not quite as cheep as 570

You need to check out the GTX 550 TI man! It's served me well for more than just gaming. I don't think the price has dropped too much though but it should be around 30 pounds. Also, try pairing the 550TI with a I5 quad core and 16 gigs of ddr4. The ram and I5 is for things other than gaming like editing and rendering. Also, that was Ground Zeroes, not MGSV.

I bought an original HD6950 2GB (the ones that unlocked) instead of this for about $100 cheaper than these were selling at the time ($370 vs $300 w/$30 rebate). This was definitely better in new games than what I bought but I really don't think I bought the wrong card. The additional memory over this really let me crank texture settings up until 2012 games started ramping up their visual fidelity

What driver version did you install for this card? I've heard from people that the 500 series run better in older drivers.
