The grinding lands is honestly a super well implemented grind. My only issue is the level aystem for the regions.

Guiding Lands get's too much hate for no reason, i absolutely love this end game system. the idea of freely hunting monsters left and right to your heart's content while getting the resources and upgrade material for your weapon and armor at the same time is implemented perfectly, the only issue and flaw about this system is the leveling.

Fun fact, the Guiding Lands were likely formed from the Zorah Magdaros from the first act of World.

An End Game should do the following. 1.) Provide greater difficulty than the story. 2.) Incentivize & Reward the player for engaging with the game long term. Should feel good to prevail over the difficulty & get stronger / progress your gear. 3.) Provide variety by making most if not all monsters relevant to the end game to reduce tedium as much as possible. The more different monsters you hunt, the fresher the end game stays for longer. It takes longer to get stale. Sunbreak for me personally was ALMOST completely perfect. Very damn nearly. Only thing I would've changed is make lower tier monsters appear more often in higher level Investigations. I know they CAN appear. They're just rare. And make the Final Bosses... Ibushi, Narwa & Gaismagorm... Relevant as well. Aside from those two things, Sunbreak's End Game is mostly perfect for me.

I think Guiding Lands is pretty good although when boiled down, me & many others still felt pigeon-holed into hunting the same small handful of monsters much like Base World. The popular Augments like Health Regen & Affinity came from the same few monsters so I ended up hunting them vastly more than anything else. And Tier 3 Tempereds had to be farmed excessively due to all the best gear being Rare 12 & requiring Great Spiritvein Gems. *(And while not related to the Guiding Lands, Tier 3 Investigations had the best Deco Rewards making it sub-optimal to hunt anything weaker.)* So even Iceborne's end game lacked variety unfortunately. I actually prefer Anomalies. Sunbreak is my personal favorite end game. Can't wait to see what Wilds & Wilds Ultimate give us for an End Game. I suspect it'll probably be the best yet.
@TheMonarchofDragons
@TheMonarchofDragons Ай бұрын
That's fair, I think for me it's just that Anomaly has way too many levels to it in terms of grinding (100 at launch was perfectly fine imo), and like I said in the video the flow of the monsters, even the ones I like at base feel butchered due to the Afflicted status. Plus, gonna be honest: I don't really care a lot for meta viability or optimal play with what the best augments, options for deco's, or weapons are. So while I can see the health regen and rarity 12 argument for some people, it doesn't effect me personally.

@@TheMonarchofDragons That's cool, man. In fact, I can understand the Level 300 grind being a bit much. I just enjoyed the game so much, I didn't mind. I have the suspicion that Wilds will hit the nail on the head perfectly & make the perfect end game for everyone to enjoy. Might be a bit ambitious since pleasing everyone is basically an impossible task, but... I don't know. I just have this feeling that it'll do everything right.
@TheMonarchofDragons
@TheMonarchofDragons Ай бұрын
Yeah I get ya no worries. And of course you can't please everyone, but I feel given all the feedback from the 5th gen as a whole that we are in good hands with the endgame. There's already potential given that from what we've seen: monsters will be coming at various difficulty ranges, so 2 Balahara's won't be the same in terms of threat level, which could affect rewards and maybe deco's...? Idk, hard to say definitively based on the screenshots that have been floating around, not to mention the lack of info on how skills and armors work, but I do think it will be interesting to find out.

@@TheMonarchofDragons If Base Wilds pulls a Base Rise & doesn't actually have an end game at all... I think we should all remain calm. lol Wilds Ultimate will most certainly have one. So we shouldn't let the Base Game disappoint us too much if it doesn't deliver. But I feel like it'll deliver anyway. Rise was impacted by Covid. Wilds wasn't.

Guiding Lands ❌ Grinding Lands ✅
@senseispyro8742
@senseispyro8742 Ай бұрын
Thank you! this is what I’m talking about. Silly shit like this is what I want from monster hunter. Screw forced time limits, screw faint restrictions, I came to the series for fun, NOT to be tied down to exterminate. Don’t get me wrong I love fighting to test my medal, but I want to be a nomad. You know, to be 1 with nature. I want to have my own turf wars. Like meditating underneath a tree & then be interrupted by a random monster. Or maybe go on an online expedition to practice my moves in an isolated area then be interrupted by a hunting party in pursuit of a monster. Thus compelling me to assist their fight. I want the world to feel alive rather than feel artificial. The guiding lands is the closest thing I got to that. And now Monster Hunter Wilds seems to be embodying that very idea. I love a good gimmick as much as the next guy, but we don’t need a special gimmick to have fun. Time limits ruin natural flow. Faint limits are joy killers. And both of them together forces everyone to screw around with each other ONLY after the hunt is over. And even then, you are given only 60 seconds to mess around after the mission is done. Again, time limits ruin natural flow. Let me mess around wherever I want dammit.
@kphuts815
@kphuts815 Күн бұрын
What do you mean about natural flow? The time limit is is pretty generous for most fights and you control the amount of times you faint. I like the "deadline" given to you since it creates a sense of urgency but I can see why some wouldn't.
@senseispyro8742
@senseispyro8742 Күн бұрын
@ don’t get me wrong, it’s because of how generous the time limit mostly is the reason why I don’t hate monster hunter. But when you have only 30 minutes to fight Fatalis or when you have 15 minutes to fight a 2 or more monsters, it makes me question why I put up with it all. Time should never be forced unless it makes sense. Those examples I just gave don’t make sense. But the way Wilds is doing it, makes sense.

My Thought on the Guilding lands Is that I Really Like it for More of the Map and it Theme then the Grinding Part (But it's Enjoyable too) just an Arena to Fight Basically Almost Ever single monster in one Map and Travel to Other Player Guilding Lands are some the best parts in my Opinion however I Perfer Anomaly Investigation more form Rise Sunbreak and it Due to Randomness of what Condition you get like im at the Point where I can Solo Iceborne Alatreon and Fatalis and Even AT Velkanna with no too Much Problems But Doing Anomaly quests with other players just defeated monster with even higher HP Then Iceborne Fatalis and Hit Just as hard if you mess up just feels right for me it gets me to think more then just the elder dragons but all monster ranks in between and learn to fight each monster is one thing but the time I was able to play with the youtuber reaverjolt and doing the same quest that was the Risen Shagaru Magala and Primordial Malzeno with only 30 mins and 1 Faint and not just that but also Beated the quest but it was the most intense quest I ever did in monster hunter and I had a blast doing that quest and it wasn't even max level it was just level 245 now while I Already finished max out my level back in title update 5 of sunbreak i just feel like the quests difficulty and the amount the skill you can have in Sunbreak is why i really like monster hunter combat. But that my opinion between Iceborne and Sunbreak Endgame I Do Like Both of them but Do understand why the Guilding Lands are Better in terms of Grinding without burnout im just Using to Grinding Shiny Pokemon Complete Battle Passes without feeling Burning out of my head. That my take on the Guilding lands and Anomaly quests if there one thing that Anomaly had that better in terms of Rajang you don't have to fight Rajang in order to get the Materials you need for Anomaly arguments in Sunbreak sense you can fight pyre Rakni Kadaki Instead. (Refer to why you despise Iceborne Rajang the most out the monster) even tho im using to fight world Kushala as Alright nothing hard just wind and Clutch Claw his face out with rocksteady mantle and Rise Kushala as a Solid Fight the same opinion if fighting kushala in general (Unless it's Risen version I personally think they Peak Monster design and i want them as Monstie along side Gismagorm in Stories 3) I Just feel more into monster hunter with Rise sunbreak might be because rise cameout on my birthday if anything back on the switch.

So far I am just starting the game and I am not happy that sections and monsters of the grinding lands have to open up little by little via story progression. I just want to get to Fatalis so I can tear it apart. Maybe after I'll view grinding lands in a better light.

@@MH_MostWanted I can understand having a goal in mind and wanting to get there or do it as fast as possible, but that’s also a really bad trap because Alatreon and Fatalis are both MR 24, something that many people argue should be much higher considering how difficult they are. Having them be that early kind of ruins the rest of the endgame flow tbh. My advice and the way I approach it is to just take it slowly: sit back, relax, and pace yourself. Don’t rush yourself into this goal and instead go with the flow. Granted I was also first playing when updates were rolling out so of course it is gonna be different for you when it’s all right there, but I do think not setting yourself up like that is the proper move tbh, and might be one of the other reasons I like Guiding Lands. I don’t really have an extraneous goal in mind, something to hard grind or a challenge to do, instead just simply focusing on having fun and stopping and smelling the flowers. I don’t mind not having immediate control over the monsters I can choose from, I just embrace the chaos and randomness and let myself go with the flow. Eventually I will get the ability to choose what I want via the lures with enough time, but until then it’s just a matter of enjoying myself. And I think if you take your time, let yourself build up MR up to 100 gradually, all while doing bits of Guiding lands so you can get the requirements for the MR breaks, you could perhaps end up enjoying it way more.

Guiding land is okay, what i dont like is how charms need many different guiding land mats, with no ability to adjust area level freely, it really hurt many hunter progress. Sadly guiding land is more like regular grind that happened to be in post game content since it doesnt provide any difficulty whatsoever, so i wouldnt call it true end game. Anomaly is okay but fuck the levels, and fuuuuuck the drop rate of afflicted materials, there are many times i only got 1 mats or none at all, like wtf, trying to augment element build with different weapons became nightmare for me. I remember i refused to augment my weapons in TU3 since im sick of only getting one or two mats for each hunt.

Commenting before watching as a point of reference. World has been the low point of the series in my eyes since release and even moreso after rise, but for reasons beyond my understanding I was compelled to try it again recently, so I picked up my old save where I left off at the guiding lands and, being baffled by this end game that is confusing to me I almost gave up again, then I get recommended this video. Given I do not believe in coincidences, I look forward to hearing what you have to say in it.

pretty sure guiding lands were the worst conccept yet. to me its far less enjoyable than even clutch claw. unlimted death ( no real punishment either) , no purpose to play really, extremely boring because of that. multiplayer games die after 1 hunt usually when the host leaves and that kills the entire session. There is good reasons why open world usually is a recipe for failure and guiding lands were perfect example. it really was the nail in the coffin for world to me.
