Also gotta be careful if a lot of people you ask say a guy does good work and you ask saw builders if the same guy does good work and they say no that’s a red flag as well. Another great video John. 😎

@carbonEYE0073 ай бұрын
This is a lack of desire to attain knowledge on your part. Do not try to stifle others who need truths at this crucial time, because you don’t feel like you can handle it. You would be both blind and ignorant both to ignore the dire situation we are in. you are correct in that not everyone can navigate the proverbial rabbit hole, however the great awakening is here and if your not helping just get out of the way.

Dude, thought you were going to hammer out a little Uncle Ted, Star Spangled Banner when you grabbed up your guitar. Red, white and blue Bro. We don't need to talk politics here cause we got bad ass saws to drool over. I wish Sthil would offer the 261 with the wrap bar, man I would be on that. Love that little saw for firewood and throwing on the tractor to cut up downed stuff along the field edges when you don't need the big boys. She's my little go to saw. I live in an area where no one hardly knows what a wrap bar is. A couple of years ago I ordered a 362 with a wrap bar and my dealer was like, man this is the first one of these we've ever sold. Well it was the first one I've ever owned and I love it. Your doing a killer job with this channel, keep em' coming!!!

I’d be curious to test different stages of port work. Like a simple easy thing that someone could do would be muffler mod and maybe flow increase on the exhaust. Without enlarging or moving the ports. Just smoothing and helping flow.

I have my 261 cylinder off and ready to party. have a bit of experience so I’m going for it. Thanks for the tips. If I’m not lowering the cylinder via a cut , can I get away with a base gasket delete on this one? Using a hyway pop up. Very light port clean up and intake gutting like you have here.
@kevinnequest87202 жыл бұрын
Canadian builders? Again I picked up some more mind candy. Looking at my 261 and thinking she needs some simple upgrades. Keep doing you. Maybe borrow Jacob's idea of the 8 hours of a saw running and get everyone to "watch it" to get your viewing hours up.
@johnscustomsaws2 жыл бұрын
Yeah it took a while to get the watc hours but long videos are a must almost... and the "shorts" don't count... I would definitely get the air filter from WCS/RBS

Hey john ,love the channel, wanted to know your thoughts on advancing the ignition timing on saws ,why or why not u would do it? Thanks man
@johnscustomsaws2 жыл бұрын
I don't advance timing on saws... I have my own reasons for it but everything you see cutting on my channel cutting is running with stock timing... NOT saying that if someone dose do timing advances they are in the wrong... not at all... I just thing for the results I personally get with my builds its not necessary... everything you do to these saws has a "give and take" effect... I haven't had anyone say they aren't happy with the performance so I like to leave it there... now the 201T I have done timing advance to but thats a different deal... how do u like that plot twist lol

hello, i am just a random guy who do fews cords/years, when you said "paper filter" about ms261 air filter, i think you do a little mistake : Like many modern filter, it's a polypropylène filter, look like paper, but way stronger than paper, so we able to clean it, softly, but harder than a paper filter. if you watch the video towards the end i show a saw that "A GUY" did for a good customer of mine and it sure looks incredibly similar to the saw i showed that was terrible work... shows the name of his business on the saw... but the whole point again is that there are a hell of a lot more than 1 guy that do terrible work... and they will pop up under a different business name and start all over... this dude sells "ported chassis" on ebay... so stay away from that... i have to be careful understand i am taking major heat for even putting it out there so i can only do so much... im already pushing it
