I much prefer the bridge pickup off the tone control. It helps to give you maximum cut thru on solos, and it helps the bridge/middle position have it’s own unique sound, not just being a slightly more trebly version of the neck/middle position.

I think you’ve found the perfect Strat. I love that candy maple leaf red, and the tone control in the bridge pickup. EVERY Strat bridge pickup needs the treble dialed back, in my worthless humble opinion. That’s a beaut!

It’s a gorgeous colour combination. I had a 2000 deluxe in Teal transparent with ash body and maple neck. It was equipped with locking tuners and had the same hot noisesless pickups. It felt great to play, but did not sound like a Strat. I was seeking the translucent sound of vintage single coil pickup. The in between sounds hinted at the sort of noise I wanted, but I found it soulless. I sold it and used the cash to buy a Squier CV anniversary Strat, and a CV 50s Telecaster. Each of them are far more inspiring to play. The candy apple Strat has the same pickups and doesn’t appear to have the quack that is associated with that instrument. I did manage to get some improvement by screwing the pickups flush with the pickguard. Incidentally, Guitar magazine found the Vintage Hot Noiseless pups in the Clapton signature Strats a bit lacking. Thanks as ever for your scholarly observations Canada’s national treasure.

Because the Noiseless pups are all stacked humbuckers one coil on top of another. So far it has worked out really well. I had a 2007 MIM Deluxe Strat. It was great but for the bridge pup. I put in an SD SSL-6 into the bridge position. Nothing like 13k vs half that from the original pup.

I'm thinking about buying a pro 2 neck with a rosewood fretboard for my Mexican-made Player Plus Strat. I've currently got a neck with a maple fretboard, and I really want rosewood. I'm really hoping it will fit. I know the guitar tech at the shop I'll take it to will definitely have to drill another hole for the neck pocket screws, but I don't think that should be a big deal. I just really don't want to waste $600, only to find out the neck doesn't fit or intonate with my guitar body properly.

That is EXACTLY the strat I would get if I had the money. I love candy apple red. Problem with matching the headstock colour to the scratchplate is, you can't really change the latter, say if you prefer a white or parchment one with candy apple red. Much prefer split-head tuners on Teles and Strats to the more modern variety, too. In short, don't think Fender are doing Canada that much of a favour with these.

Tone control for the bridge is a must!!! That's one of the many reasons that I love G&L over Fender - Leo developed Passive Treble & Bass tone controls that controls the overall output of G&L's S style guitars. AND - you can order a G&L with your choice of 9 different neck profiles, 3 different radius choices and your choice of 3 different fret wires for about the same price as the Fender Professional Strat. Leo Fender gave us so much that we take for granted! As the saying goes - why play a Fender when you can play Leo's best??? Sorry - having played both, I am a total G&L fanatic

I have a Legacy Special that I love but there's something I really like about not having a tone control on a Strat rear PU. I realize that sounds counter intuitive but when I flip the switch to the back position on my Strat I just like the fact that I know "exactly" what I'm going to get.

Aren’t Fender being somewhat loose with their description of their ‘noiseless’ pickups as ‘single coils’? In order to be truly noiseless there must surely be a second - opposite wound - coil present… somewhere? 🤔 Happy to be corrected if this assumption is wrong.

i gave up on fender years ago,had 4 usa strats(still got 1)i've always found the quality an issue with fender, did you see phill mc knight review the ultra tele a while back, what a disaster with quality, typical of a big brand to use their name to sell rubbish, gibson aren't any better, the guitars coming from the far east are much better quality, they play and feel better, sound wise not so good, but no problem just change the pickups to your own taste,i'd never waste my money on another fender or gibson

Fender need to make more hardtail guitars for those of us that don't use a trem and more options with humbucker and p90s. Also the strat needs the controls moved, Knopfler had the right idea his schecter (candy Red!) had two , not 3!

@@StupidGuitar Nothing to do with being a "blind brand loyalist". I prefer a meatier Cheap Trick style of sound. I can't get that out of a Fender which all seem to sound thin and clanky.

@@johncollins5552 they need to make a guitar that sounds like it has some balls. The closest thing I've come to that is the Meteora. Close, but not close enough.

@@RobotShlomo fender makes a lot of guitars. so not a brand loyalist just narrow minded. Got it. I don't own a single Fender, but I also wouldn't go out of my way to leave a comment on a video for a guitar which just isn't for me, but you do you
