Let Chuck speak! He obviously sees that players today aren't as loyal as before, or are more practical. If a ship is sinking, jump out. If you aren't as strong, take an easier role. Which is why the NBA is kind of meh now, even with players being in better shape than past generations. Chuck always gets cut off when he has an interesting opinion.

To be clear, when Kenny said "championship team" I immediately thought of the Cavs and Kyrie Irving because even though they lost in 2017, they did win in 2016 and were the champion the year they lost; but Kyrie still demanded a trade - not even free agency. Whereas when the champion Warriors lost in 2016, they acquired KD instead of jumping ship. Btw, I realize Kyrie left for his own reasons, but my sentiment was that winning or losing doesn't in and of itself automatically dictate a player staying with or leaving a team. It can be the case, but it's not automatic.

No one knows what KD is thinking or will do. Maybe not even him. What it comes down to (obviously) is what he wants. But what is that? More titles? More points/recognition as one the best players ever? More enjoyment in a fun work environment? (And let's be honest - he's smiled more in 2 years in GS than 10 years in OKC.) Steve Nash was my favourite player so since Curry was drafted, I've been with the Warriors. They have amazing management, coach, culture AND ownership - first building in any sports league ever constructed without public funding! A lot to admire. Personally, I think the thing he most wants has to do with legacy and he needs to figure out whether that comes with however more titles w/ GS or going somewhere like NY and dragging a franchise back to contention. I'm with Kenny - I don't know how you walk away from a dynasty in its prime.
