@@mitjamackenzie1219 i dislike euphoria exactly because it pretty much glamourises and romanticises drugs, sex work and toxic relationships. i mean it probably doesn’t influence those who are mature enough, but euphoria is so hyped up that early teens watch it and think wow how aesthetic. skins is a more sincere thing in my opinion, also it represents all the destructive things without the “glam effect”. however i don’t judge your tastes and understand you can like euphoria

​​@@tiddies2859 shows and movies like Euphoria and Trainspotting don't pull any punches when they _punish_ their characters for the bad decisions they make... other than Nate, I suppose, and it's not like the narrative doesn't make it crystal clear to most people that he's an awful person (and it's not like he's _happy_ either). let's be real, there's _just as much_ drug use in Skins as there is in Euphoria... i honestly couldn't make it through the second generation bc Cook looked so much like my baby brother did back then, and his story line was too dark and tragic and i just saw my brother.. so idk how the drug dependence plot actually culminates in Skins Gen 2. but the darkest parts abt Gen 1 that i remember aren't actually _direct consequences_ of drug dependence the way it is in Euphoria. and I'm aware that there's no one as dark and irredeemable as Nate in Skins, but Nate is a pretty good _cautionary tale_ abt how far ab usive relationships can go irl! idk that the fandom sees what he does and ships him with _anyone_ (and imo, neither does the narrative. he's framed as _dangerous,_ even if he's beautiful - not unlike opiates.. it's almost like there's a thematic through line?)
